android is just 3 to 4 years old. its very very immature. even nokia,s symbian is better than it. the only mature platform for the phone is meego. i sold my n900 and bot a x10. regretting deep heartedly.im sure n9 will be a block buster phone and nokia will again come to top after its release. i like nokia bcoz there smart phones are equipped with heavily multi-system features.i dnt mean multi-tasking but multi-system/function.
If the manufacturers werent's so bloody stingy with firmware upgrades we would be seeing a much higher % of gingerbread users!!!!! Motorola Defy being a example!
Android are battery suckers, I stick to Symbian much stable solid OS.
I upated my desire yesterday, works pefect - like a new phone again. So much faster.
Just make sure you back everything up and there is no problem
[deleted post]Yeah that joke is as old as Symbian and will die like Symbian.
I swear its because of companies like 3 and Tesco mobile they keep selling people the shit X10 Mini but they don't tell you that you will get the worst android version known to man.

Anonymous, 04 Aug 2011I don't understand why there's no way to backup your data without rooting?Wot do you need to backup? Messages? Download sms b&r at the market. Contacts? U can easily xport it to sd card, or sync w/google account. Media files? Transfer it via usb.. Ugh
Another happy X10i user! Just got into the cream-layer after upgrading to Gingerbread!
TC, 04 Aug 2011The reason why not everybody choose to upgrade from Froyo is because Froyo is good enough. Upg... moreI agree. I am currently on Froyo. I'm a little wary about upgrading to Gingerbread when it becomes available for the HTC Desire Z. I've had a few less than ideal experiences with app software and phone firmware upgrades. Although my phone as is is not absolutely perfect, I'm afraid that I will have more issues that the benefits of Gingerbread will not outweigh.
I don't upgrade because its a hassle to restore everything. And by the way, how do you back up your app's data without root access? I have upgraded the firmware once and I lose data. When I reinstalled some games, I have to start from scratch. Have to reconfigure most settings also. Is there a better way?
The reason why not everybody choose to upgrade from Froyo is because Froyo is good enough. Upgrading to Froyo gave us Adobe Flash 10, but there is no big improvement like that when upgrading from Froyo to Gingerbread, and why upgrade if you are completely satisfied with Froyo!?
