Its simply that android has the best features and functionality coupled with total freedom. Samsung and other manufacturers simply make the hardware.
Nokia had its time with symbian and apple will soon folow the same footsteps,unless they come out with the most amazing device ever seen and freesource iOS , wich they probably wont. Time for freedom with android has arrived and GG samsung for taking inovative hardware designs and making them perfect.

It is usually made up of more than one person.
Which means that when you say Elop made this major changes at Nokia just because he's a Trojan
It actually means you a pretty stupid along with the rest of the people who keep saying it.
Their is no way that Steve Elop could just waltz in there and do such a major shake up without approval of people at Nokia (the board)
Times are changing Nokia, its your own fault for failing to keep up with Android or even Windows with your symbian system
Sun Down, 05 Aug 2011If you do plan on getting a Nokia in the future, will it be Belle or WP7?It's hard to say what's going to be available 18 months in the future. I'm simply going to check what's available from the various manufacturers then and see what works best for me. I can't even say what my needs will be then. Over the past year and a half since I got my first smartphone, my needs have changed. My Nokia did what I wanted it to do at the time I got it. Then my needs changed and I ended up getting an HTC since the Nokia I could not keep up with my changing needs.

I am convinced that... moreThen all you can do is hope that their latest flagship Symbian phone will have the latest Qualcomm SoC with badass battery life and solid built quality. I know, it's overkill for Symbian, but the mind set of the people has changed, and numbers means everything.
I love Nokia, but I don't see the groundbreaking comeback some people see. I am convinced that Stephen Elop is a Trojan Horse sent by Microsoft. The decisions Nokia is taking do not reflect that of well...Nokia. They are being used to bolster Windows phone 7. This platform is very promising, but people are funny and trends don't usually follow logic. Things could be very different by next year though, but not in a month or 2 like some people speculate. Nokia was known for having the latest PHYSICAL features and technologies. They have lost that race to almost everybody, except BB of course. They have to push it again in the cookie cutter world of WP7 to be on top once again.

The 3rd and 4th ... moreThe last Nokia phone I got lasted only 7 months before I decided to ditch it. I gave Nokia a chance to win me back with something better. HTC had a phone available then that won me over. It's been 9 months since I had it and I still really like it and do not plan on changing any time soon.
When it is time to change phones, Nokia and everyone else will have an opportunity to win me over. Maybe Nokia will have something in about 18 months time that can challenge for my consumer dollars. I'm thinking that's the time frame for when I will be in the market for a new phone.
If I had to get a new phone today, it will not be a Nokia phone.

But seriously Nokia needs something revolutionary to jump start them back to being a growing powerhouse. WP7 is a decent idea but not sure its the answer. I think the answer will be in phones that can encompass the whole user experience... from apps to hardware to overall usage. IF they can make WP7 sing on their hardware they may just have something on their hands. As it is now the outlook is questionable. Maybe the answer is bringing Meego to more countries. We'll see.
I personally am rooting for Nokia. I have always had good luck with their phones and currently have the N8 and love it. Time will tell. Apple almost went under back in the late 90s... now look at them.
android = # 1 operating system!!!
lg = # 2 manufacturer!!!
need i say more???
Meego will be on top soon only if it will be continued.... And nokia will be the king again.
[deleted post]you are right no one should support a specific manufacturer they do care about your money only
in my opinion a customer should support the best phone not the best phone maker

Gem86, 05 Aug 2011Do provide those numbers since you seem to know them, and enlighten us!It's not his duty to do a survey and present the results. It's the job of Arena's staff! The US has over 300 milion enhabitants,while the world population is around 7 billions,of whitch 6 billions use a mobile phone. Presenting in such datailed manner the situation in the US whitch constitutes only a relelatively small procentage is somewhat unprofessional on Arena's part...they should do surveys that covor the other major markets or even a global survey and present the results,not just focus on a particular area!
where is HTC?
Nokia huh
People watch or comment more in Nokia's articles or section just because it was a famous name back in ancient so they expect something good may come from them
But the truth there will NOT… Nokia now is just a loser even N9 and Microkia will just make a riot for 6 months maximum and again they will lose lose lose what a loser are you NO Kia. Why you don't just give up?
