It turns out that 1 million pre-orders were placed in the first 24 hours after the 4S page went live in the Apple...

if apple were to rectify certain aspects of their phone I would gladly switch to them...

1. Add Bluetooth.
2. Add DivX/xvid/mkv/avi compatibility out-of-box
3. Add a removable/replaceable battery.
4. Add MicroSD card slot.
5. Stop forcing people to pay a MASSIVE premium... (i mean seriously in this recession who can afford to pay THAT much on a phone?)
6. I dont EVER wanna hear/read/see another foxcon torture story in the news ever again.
7. Allow users the option to customize the look & feel of the UI.
8. Stop trying to sell products based on purely brand.
9. Listen to what your users are saying and read this list and use it while making your next phone...

really what country are you in? I bet the place where you live and work there is wi-fi everywhere... and given the recession I am sure you have a pot full of money/gold hidden somewhere so that you could buy the next iPhone...

have tried using the iPhone and hated every second of it... my ancient Nokia 1100 was a better phone...

the iPhone is just an iPod touch with an antennae and call/text facility...

blackberry has better features if you want the kind of connectivity that you are looking for...

Nokia has better design and looks these days...

samsung have better screens

HTC better build quality

oh and I forgot to mention did you know that Foxconn manufactures iPhones in Chengdu, China torture and beat up workers and under pay them and bully and torture anyone who goes near their facility or even stands near their wall/gate?

It seems like apple fans vehemently justify their minimum of 200$ extra money they put in buying an an apple product.

The only justification I search is , whether the money which I painstakingly earned is used properly , or if its serving my purpose. If you think paying 200$ extra for a brand name with similar might be a little bit better or may be lesser performing device only by its brand name , then you are a proud owner of Apple product.

Why do I need to have a mac to use my phone, why cant I just simply transfer my songs simple like I used to do before.

For every other video format I have to download an app.. gosh, why pay so much :) .

I cant be holier than thou than apple fanboys behave , it seems like they are ready to run miles extra to prove their point.

Smaller screen, is a pain in the butt... I need 4.1 atleast, why cant apple give it :) . I do a lot of internet :( . Retina display , hmm... no justification here also.

Stability of the OS, hmmm, why Android fanboys have a problem here, they try out every other flavor of custom roms out on their, how can you expect stability with custom roms from anonymous devs. Use the factory preloaded roms :) . Aint it simple.

Ahh... Apple is very monotonous in their behavior. Same old home screens , icons , bores me a lot :( , perhaps I have not explored this area... There are a lot of home screens in android :)

Overall , android is free... so even if your company forget about its customers , some individual devs can come to your rescue, perhaps apple dont have to worry about their :) , since they have only iPhone :)

> In reply to [deleted post]By the way, you may call me an Apple fan, as opposed to fanboy.

1. As an Apple fan, I will try to use as much fact with what I say. A fanboy will probably just defend blindly, and maybe even lie, which I do not support.

2. As an Apple fan, I would rather stick to what I like about Apple and iPhone, as opposed to insulting other brands weaknesses. (I am not perfect and am sometimes guilty of engaging trolls). A fanboy, in my opinion, would rather focus on rival's weaknesses.

3. I will try and use reasonable and respectful language, and will try to leave your mother out of it as far as possible.

lol you sort of get the drift. We should all be happy to be fans of something, sports, PS3 or Xbox, Audi or BMW whatever. I should have the freedom to like something, at the same time, I should respect your freedom to enjoy something different.

I think if we took this approach, there'll probably be more to celebrate, rather than argue.

2. Yes, admittedly without file transfer capability. Also bluetooth as essential is stretching it a bit in my opinion. Although, as a user of an iPhone since 2007, and having survived this horrible 4 years without bluetooth file transfer, I wonder what the fuss is all about.
3. iPhone has class leading reception. A bit of FUD on your part there mate.
4. This just shows you've never used an iPhone by the way. iPhone users are majority Windows users, one study estimated that for iPhone users, 2/3rds were probably Windows PC users.

I call, sms, whatsapp, email, surf the net, skype, facebook, beejive (MSN, Gtalk, and Yahoo chat) pretty ok actually, whether on wi-fi at home, or on 3G when I'm out. I certainly have fond memories of my Sony Ericsson K800i, but I certainly am much happier now that I am using a smartphone.

I answered your questions, based on my experience with my iPhone, as well as my experiences with iPhone, iPhone 3GS, Sony Ericsson K750, Sony Ericsson K800 previously, to give you as an unbiased answer as I could.

How much experience of iPhone ownership do you have, to throw your slightly misinformed questions? My suspicion is none.

i never had convert any video

Yes you can, i use VLC for this, there's another apps too what play almost any video out there. Apple support only their own videoformat because they all work. Instead using xvid/divx etc. you never know if they work or you might need extra codec to play those etc. Apple don' roll things thatway, everything what they offer works.

People who want more can download video playing apps from appstore which arent that trustful for everything working.

> In reply to [deleted post]im actually offendedf by the fact that you think that all iphone users are dumb

maybe iphone users are thew smart ones because they have chosen to have a system that does does everything it but is just easier to use (i mean really who actually want something because its more complicated). and yes the iOS is easier to use.

maybe we want somethuing that crashes less

maybe we want premium materials in our products.

my point is just because some1 chooses a device doesnt mean they are brainwashed

oh and have some repect steve was a great man that brought to us this new smartphone era. i mean what kind of people makes fun of some1 that died recently. i am always amazed at how people behave towards other human beings

and you say we have been brainwashed. maybe you have been brainwashed by google?

try and use an uiphone for media cunsumption and compare it to any android device

does it have Bluetooth which is an essential in countries outside Europe and USA and Australia and Canada?

can you make phone calls or send texts without searching for coverage everywhere you go?

can you transfer data from you iPhone to your PC without having to spend another 1000$ on buying a mac... just to replace your PC since apple doesn't like people buying from non-apple/apple sponsored store nor transferring data so you could listen to your music on your brand new 5.1?

these are just basics that apple REFUSE to cover cause someone else has already patented them...

I am sure you have forgotten how to use your old phone or how it allowed you to call/text without having to scream your lungs out nor search for coverage like a lunatic... before you switched to the iPhone

> In reply to [deleted post]I defend iPhone because I am an iPhone fan, its that simple. I never asked anyone to be completely neutral.

I would fully expect an Android fan to defend Android as well, especially against baseless arguments.

However the key word here is 'defend', and I defend against an 'attack'. Also, I don't recommend iPhone fans attack Android either, that's a waste of time. In my opinion, we should concentrate more on being fans, rather than haters.

I may prefer iPhone, but that doesn't automatically make me an Android hater.

Secondly, there is a difference with defending blindly, and defending with facts. As far as possible, I have always tried to back my arguments up with facts and examples.

Indeed it did get an upgrade in speed and cam but it still does not have 4g. I own a iPhone 4 for personal use and a Samsung Galaxy S2 for my business. If they were not cheap and put the 4g band then it would have been a definite phone killer but getting about the same feature as it's competitor it's just not big of an upgrade. I am happy with just my iPhone 4 and Galaxy S2. If i wanted better graphic for gaming then that's what my iPad 2 is there for. My contract ended and was hoping to renew it for iPhone 5 but since it fail to come out, I rather just save it for next year.
