It is interesting to see that Nokia-Siemens have lost out. I know that they make great quality networks for alot of countries compared to others like Alcatel. Just goes to show how good bussiness practice can win out over quality.
Its interesting is all.
i think it won't be considered to be too soon for me to say, "R.I.P Nokia".
well, i hope wp os will be great. but i am wondering...why not nokia try android? instead of wp os? and, will wp os help nokia's sells to bounce back up? its a sad thing nokia is dying. :(
Na wa oh, a whole nokia, this sucks big time!!! I hate all other manufactures! Nokia remains da bomb, i wish they cld just get sum brain n make their own, nokia mesenger hotter than bbm, to get RiM out of d show n make a super slip n beta touch phne to get ds apple out of d road. . .as 4 adroid, its just a chinese cheap software ciao

With ovi map for exemple if you want to have the map of Japan or other country and are from north america you have to buy it. It's not free. With Google offline mode everything is free and with the combine power of Google navigation & Vlingo incar how can ovi map can beat that. I'm sure you did not know about Google offline line mode.
i think nokia have best navigation application simple updated for all world countries not like google map and include all issues its fabulas but they should improve GPS signal reciever samsung much stronger in catching GPS signal and stable that keep the signal, but nokia now go away cuase dated hardware and the symbian which is not suitable os for touch phone and the latency in response when opening and closing apps after being nokia fan for 8 years i switch to android i feel the differance btwn like the differance of windows7 to windws 95.
If Nokia's next quarter result is another flop then it's clear that people don't want WP regardless of brand.
The really sad thing is that Nokia seem to be making some of the best hardware that they've made for years. I think that many people would still be prepared to consider Symbian if Stephen Elop hadn't done such an inexplicably effective hatchet job on Symbian on his arrival at Nokia.
It does seem to be the case that Nokia's failure to strike a deal with Google which would allow them to preserve things like Ovi store and maps was the main reason for them not jumping on the Android bandwagon. However, by sticking in their lot with WP7 they seem to have bought a very expensive ticket on the last train to nowhere.
With the likes of RIM struggling, it seems to be that the space in the marketplace of the future will be occupied by fewer rather than more mobile operating systems. A lot of potential WP7 customers have already gone to IOS or Android and I can't see WP7 offering anything to win customers over from the big two.
Nokia is in wipeout mode. Switching to a more unpopular OS than the one it dumped, and going to war in the low price market that will soon be dominated by Chinese manufacturers- it all points towards Elop turning on the self-destruct switch! I have used Nokia since 1996 but finally purchased Samsung Galaxy S2 after frustration with Nokia dumping its OS

You are just downloading portions of the Maps Nokia Maps give you the ENTIRE MAP of all Countries of the world. Gosh! Even I have a map from one Island at Malaysia that I doubt they got it...and really help me on my trip :) and the Maps of Mexico are excellent :)
If you don't use the App and rely on Crappy test or youtube is your problem not mine :P
'dependable of Android' ???
Just like a high street shop, If people want it very much, they HAVE to stock it, otherwise NOBODY uses their shop!!! :D
@The Boy with Red Hat:
So I guess you are just poor boy who live miles away from any big town, cannot afford a few dollars, or just dont want to get a contract..

Is like Samsung, they is paying money to developers for Bada Apps since they are depending too much of Android and they left their own OS out on the shadows...
Nokia don't want to be dependable of Android (as LG, Samsung and others).....
The Boy with Red Hat, 20 Oct 2011Nokia Maps is one of the MAIN reason why Nokia don't go with Android Google = Google Maps ... moreimao the reason is Nokia thought android would not be growing as big or even bigger than symbian. They thought it would just be another outsider ecosystem like palm os or webOs.
I like to use my android phone as a usb mass storage device and simple drag and drop of files is not supported by windows phone 7 so will not be buying a Nokia. Geez nokia u should of gone android or at least used both windows and android. Such a waste of a company! Seriously windows phone sales are seriously low why take the risk? Go android! With ur nice designs and great multimedia features and android u'd sells loads! Slop going to destroy nokia.
