GSMArena are showing their ignorance here. Developers shouldn't have to care about the first - both are using the exact same ARMv7 instruction set. I doubt Samsung has made any major changes to the upper level software stack either.
"We guess developers won't be too happy that they have to support yet another chipset for the Galaxy S II apps"
WHAAT? Both - Exynos and OMAP are ARM V7 compatible processors... there's nothing for devs. to do to support those two chips!
stupid samsung devs, 11 Nov 2011just quit that stupid mhl tv out crap. put a darn hdmi, all modern tv s have hdmi, i dont want... morehow would u put a normal size hdmi on a phone mate? those who have mini hdmi need a different cable so what the problem carrying a small adaptor? and the is an extra mini usb port on the adaptor in case that u didnt know..
XXX, 11 Nov 2011now only GSMARENA know, I already got this phone on OCT 2011 and post the comment in S2 site......Exactly. This has got to be the slowest slowpoke post any tech site has ever reached. I myself have used this phone for months too.
Why?
Also, fragmentation is not a problem, because this is not the first phone with sgx540
Mali 400 is a sad GPU compared to PowerVr540
Android fragments even further,,if i was a developer i would not develop for yet another chipset..
Samsung is slowly loosing touch with reality by churning out all theses Galaxies without much differences between two successive ones. I wonder if they are aware of how much they are flooding the system with twins and triplets etc.... what the crap is this?
AnonD-23710, 11 Nov 2011So that's Galaxy S II on Exynos, Tegra 2 and Texas Instruments. Benchmark comparisons pleas... moregood idea really! :)

So that's Galaxy S II on Exynos, Tegra 2 and Texas Instruments.
Benchmark comparisons please, gsmarena
obviously for Chinese market, probably lowering the cost(still same cpu on the most recently released phone like Moto Razr), because too much demands for exynos
But dont the power vr540 is weaker than the mali 400 ?
A benchmark compare would be fine GSMArena :)
Thank you!
wad da hell.. the malaysian market has flooded with this weaker s2 version. the original i9100 is out of stock and they won't sell it anymore
anyone remember Samsung Galaxy SL i9003?
Samsung i9003 also powered by TI OMAP processor, and look what happens to it now.
Samsung has completely forgot that such thing ever exist.
there is no support, no update, no nothing!
my advice, better not buy any Samsung handset with TI OMAP processor in it.
coz you will regret it.
