been waiting for the update since i heard the rumor that they are going to release the 2.3 update for lg P920 and still no luck up to this day. Sigh. This will be my last handset from lg. Its useless buying a phone from a company that does not know what their costumers want.

Can a rooted phone be updated? I'm waiting for the update to my Optimus 3D still in Australia, I have bought the phone outright, (been a great phone and the 3D does not give me a headache),when it was released here in August 2011, and the only one available at the time was through OPTUS, unlocked, but they had installed all of their crap software and startup anim which I can't uninstall unless it's "rooted" so the first question remains!

I emailed LG about the update, this was their reply:

Dear --------------

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately the 2.3 android update is not yet available for your P920 handset. We have been informed that the update is due to become available for all open P920 handsets on the 5th December. LG is committed to ensuring that the upgraded Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system works flawlessly from day one, and is putting the software through a rigorous quality control process which is taking longer than anticipated. We apologise to customers who have been inconvenienced by the upgrade delay, and are confident that the new update once released will enhance your LG Smartphone experience.
I hope this has been of some assistance to you.
Please do not hesitate in contacting us again should you require any further advice.

LG, looks like you are a huge fanbase of haters. Need to work extra hard to impress. My suggestion is timely update for current and last generation phone. Continue to sponsor good Android games for LG owner like what Nokia is doing. I got a few sponsored games from Nokia and LG therefore i remain loyal to them.

Some show room unit are damaged. Spotted one at comcenter singtel. SG Nex show room even the dummy unit is badly damaged... haha... haters indeed.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-11-15 14:00 from nx2I - click to readi have a optimus 3d i working quite well compare to my other phone nokia c7, motorola milestone 2. The battery life could last the whole day just like my other phone. Nokia C7 can last 2 days. Milestone 2 whole day as well. If you don like the phone just sell it. Problems sent back to LG to resolve.
