Principle devs talk untethered iOS 5 jailbreaking and more - read the full textSome of you might steer clear of characters such as these; characters whom Apple would have you rather not know about at all. However, if you've ever owned an iOS device, chances are you've heard the term 'jailbreak' and both the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team have positioned themselves as...

Keep it to yourself or say that you don't agree with it, but others can do what they like. So all products of any sort should be kept as is. Nobody should aloud to do what they want with THEIR PROPERTY THAT THEY BOUGHT? I guess people shouldnt renovate their houses either, orthey shouldnt upgrade their computers, or tune and upgrade the cars, or revamp their clothing, or remake or remix music. People jailbreak the Iphone in order to use the potential of the Iphone that they paid so much money for which Apple has capped and then tried putting rediculous rules on.

> In reply to stonecold @ 2011-11-28 15:42 from fsxN - click to readThis is sort of a dumb statement... Since often most of the improvements made on the iPhone come from jail breakers. Items released in the Cydia store to improve your iDevice, free and for sale are often swooped up by apple, recoded reworked and bundled into your amazing little device. All in all you should thank a hacker if you like your iPhone, they're really the ones that make it awesome.

Some men destroy while some improves. Jail breaker why don't you design your smartphones if you don't like what apple phones does? i will never support any form of jail breaking of any kind of phone. we need to commend those apple. Samsung guys for designing innovative products. it is good to be creative, but celebrating a successful jail breaking of device is not what we should encourage.

So, the news is ... some people are talking about an untethered jailbreak, but they don't have one that works, and anyway Apple is likely to patch it and release a new iOS version if/when they do.

So what? Android fanboy!
I do own both iOS device and android phones..
I live my life and work to pay off those apps.. iOS users jailbreak their phones whereas android users rooted their phones.. Yea, It the same.. But all will be change in the future.. What if Google change how they work with their product.. SUCH AS, Microsoft!! WP7? W8?
Until now, people havent have a chances to jailbreak their WP7.. What if it's happen to W8?

It's like this....
People want to have control of what they paid a lot of money for.

More of us are waking up to the corporate slavery and getting wise to the unethical restrictions imposed by certain manufacturers and networks.

The only way to make these guys change their ways is to change our buying with your feet, stop buying on the basis of fashion and start thinking of the function & security.

These monsters only feed off popularity, or their self perception of it!

I just love geek-talk.

Even though I don't own a single iOS device; or understood what the hack is all about; I love it all the same.

I don't understand the whole jailbreaking fad going on these days, If you don't like being closed off into a money leaching eco system set up by apple, or the reductd functionality of standard iOS, buy something else.
You can have everything else without voiding your warranty.
