joonius, 09 Dec 2011iOS from 3 to 5 wasn't any more major than Android from 2.1 to 2.3."iOS from 3 to 5 wasn't any more major than Android from 2.1 to 2.3."
OK lets start from iOS 3.0 to iOS 4.0
100 features apple spoke about and out of them some are :
Appswitching , 7 New background Processes , Folders , Retina Display integration or New Scaling API's , Support for TV-out via iPad and also Airplay , Hardware Support (like using BP machines or Audio decks for iDevices same as froyo 2.2 update) , Splotlight search , 9 to 11 homescreens , Improved Safari performance , Improved UI with new layout someplaces (minor tweaks) changed transition animations etc etc .
iOS 4.0 to iOS 5 :
perhaps interesting feature about ICS is hardware acceleration and improved browser and tweaked little UI and what more ?
honeycomb already has hardware acceleration.
joonius, 09 Dec 2011WTF are you saying? I never asked for your biased Apple fanboy opinion. How can you even argue... moreu may state "why need ICS update ?"
well because ICS apps must be re-written just like honeycomb method. and ICS doesnt support most of the 2.3 apps.
vice-versa so 2.3 doesnt support exclusive "ICS" apps.
Eric stated "ICS attracts many developers"
So all write apps coding ICS , but bad gingerbread won't support ICS apps so u can't get latest taste of apps.
if developers are attracted to ICS then they code every app to latest OS i.e ICS and what apps ginger bread run ? 2.2 , 2.3 , 2.1 never run ICS apps.
u said 2.1 2.2 2.3 run apps
but can't run future apps "Eric" is mentioning about.
"6 months course of time many developers will be talking about ICS instead of iOS"
all the devices which don't support ICS can't run those apps.
Maybe 30% only can run those ICS apps. Since remaining phones wont even support ICS.
it is pity to tell u about ur own platform.
How can u state still that android is better than iOS in terms of support ?
I already said android sucks at support and iOS is good at that.
i never said iOS is better or iOS is the king.
theaffidavit, 09 Dec 2011lmafao tablets ?
Android is an OS and iOS is an OS.
our argument is about OS haha.
Ju... moreHaha, don't twist my words around. I haven't stated anything as such.
First of all, there are no competing product against the iPods with Android simply because the few that exist just entered the market few months ago.
Second, Apple uses same OS on their tablets as their phones, but Honeycomb isn't the same as Froyo or Gingerbread. Not exactly part of the same argument.
joonius, 09 Dec 2011WTF are you saying? I never asked for your biased Apple fanboy opinion. How can you even argue... moreAs far as i know .
2.0 , 2.1 , 2.2 , 2.3 are minor updates.
no change in OS.
there is difference between Daily updates u get from windows 7 vs update u get major like windows vista to windows 7 transition.
in that opinion
there are many versions for 3GS :
3.0 , 3.1 , 4,0 , 4.1 , 4.2 , 4.3 , 5.0.
each version has good updates.
and very very minor including 3.0.x , 3.1.x , 4.1.x , 4.2.x , 4.3.x and 5.0.x. (x stand for 1,2,3 values each one)
Well well well,,, so much arguments...
Em just quoting 1 point:
IPhone will be a History - if not given proper strategy!! The way in which Android and Smartphone manufacturers like Samsung is progressing, Apple will not be able to compete.
joonius, 09 Dec 2011WTF are you saying? I never asked for your biased Apple fanboy opinion. How can you even argue... morelmafao tablets ?
Android is an OS and iOS is an OS.
our argument is about OS haha.
Just now u said "iOS is never better than android" and again u state u are not talking about tablets.
even ipod touch i mentioned u didnt say exemption to it but said exemption to tablets. lmao
[deleted post]WTF are you saying? I never asked for your biased Apple fanboy opinion. How can you even argue with opinions?
Of course, I use facts, not my opinion, to back up my arguments. My argument is that iOS isn't better than Android like what you're saying. I'm arguing from a neutral point of view using advantages of Android to balance out your bias against it.
You ask why I didn't talk about iPad? I was strictly talking about phones and you never mentioned anything about tablets to me to begin with. Changing topics now?
What I was saying about the widgets was that it's more convenient if the information is there on the home screen rather than having to launch an app to view them. It saves more time and physical inputs which immediately cancels out the "lagginess" of the UI. Unless you want to do is to scroll and navigate through the home screen all day, it isn't something to brag about. I was pretty clear on that so I don't know what you're asking about it.
"Still I know , u praise android stating it has hardware options and that's what Eric also agreed and previously google said "ICS solves fragmentation" and google also knows its biggest problem.
But apple never said "we incorporate flash or something" because flash was never a problem. If issue is really "real" Companies respond immediately like antenna gate last year"
WTF does that even mean? What are you even trying to say there?
Quite frankly, I haven't had any experience with the Nexus One so I can't comment on what it can or can't do. However, I know that it runs Gingerbread and it handles all the apps in the market. If you're counting version updates, the Nexus One received 2 updates since it is released with Eclair, which is the same number of updates as iPhone 3GS.
joonius, 09 Dec 2011Androids only started booming near 2010. So it's pointless to compare phones before 2010. I ha... moreReplay part-2 :
U said "dont compare phones before 2010"
Total fanboy statement.
Nexus One came in January 2010 :) and my statement is still valid.
Because January belongs to Q1 of 2010.
Ok u will say "Google worked on nexus one in 2009 and released it in january 2010"
So 2nd one :
Where is Galaxy S ? huh ?
Only these get ICS update :
Galaxy Tab 10.0
Galaxy Tab 8.9
Galaxy Tab 7.7
Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus
No galaxy S
Galaxy S released Around Q2 of 2010.
Again my statement is valid still.
U admit android devices "sucked" in 2009 because there was no hype or marketing for android unlike 2010. Obviously u don't even know whether android existed or not in 2009.
U started using android maybe 2010 or 2011.
I think u didn't read what I wrote completely.
I gave my true opinion if u really read what I wrote infact u are the one using facts like "android has replaceable battery , expansion slot ......"
That's why I quoted what u wrote and gave my opinion.
So sad how u make ur self into trap saying "u are giving facts not opinions".
I used words like "I" everywhere.
And where did I use any numbers ? U said 2.1 2.2 etc etc and I quoted ur facts.
So u said bunch of apps won't help and only widgets , extra features like replaceable battery helps.
Why aren't people buying android tablets ? Infact 3.0 has hardware acceleration and still none buys it. Tablets have no replacable batteries correct me if I am wrong.
Why are people preferring iPad still ? (most of people).
iPad boomed doesn't mean it's the best tablet out there ....right ?
iPad too boomed in 2010 and u think iPad is the best Noooooo !!!
U are an android fanboy that's why u praise it. But u won't give reason why iPad sells well even without widgets and removable battery or expansion slot.
Obvious android got boost only after marketplace got good apps like angry birds in October 2010 and apps like flight trackers or soundhound etc.
Still I know , u praise android stating it has hardware options and that's what Eric also agreed and previously google said "ICS solves fragmentation" and google also knows its biggest problem.
But apple never said "we incorporate flash or something" because flash was never a problem. If issue is really "real" Companies respond immediately like antenna gate last year
I already said I agree with hardware options and I even quoted u.
But service is what android is bad at. They ignore their own phones. we all know that.
Go to custom ROMs forums u know it how many root android to get ICS like nexus one where google denied support.
Can nexus one run high-end apps like GarageBand or high end games.
As Eric Said android developer community gets boomed by 6 months from now and according to him marketplace is going to have lots of great apps and can u guarantee nexus can run it ? Noo
Why ? Simple if google give nexus update then nexus gets latest OS and can handle ICS.
But can't run high end apps so people question google asking why it can't run high end apps inspite of running latest OS. Now people shut their mouths.
Seriously I doubt it since it can't even handle UI smoothly.
Google stated "it's outdate hardware".
Specs don't count 3GS has only 256 MB RAM if I make a fact nexus is better because it has 512 MB Ram but truth is 3GS is still better since u have support for it u can get lots of accessories for it , updates , etc.
If nexus one has problem where should I go ? Google store ? Htc store ? Too bad.
ilovewatercleanwater, 08 Dec 2011I totally agree with you! I also live in US but did not grow up in US. USA is always late in m... moreAndroid already on top of the iPhone, according to Eric Schmidt - Post your comment
however, I do agree that Apple need to do something to catch up with the trend, because don't wasting the effort of the Steven Job,
or don't make people laugh at Apple
or making of Apple that, Apple become nothing without steven Job
Android vs IOS = Pc vs Mac
Android copy IOS, or window copy apply os? who care,
the power of apple is that, they could created a unit market that there always a group of people supporting them, and this group of users, they are just users,
they don't care about customization.
Could other brand do this? did other brands have the power of influence like Apple does?
anyone did line up over night for any Android phone or tab so far?
I am sure your guys are smart enough to the answers.
theaffidavit, 08 Dec 2011U know, your talking about the US. I love the US, lived there for 2 years, but if there is one... moreOMG, you didnt get what he said. He simply said, that a manufacturer in its own country is most of the times more successful than elsewhere. Doesnt mean, it cannot be a big success in a different country, get it?
theaffidavit, 08 Dec 2011from ur statement i picked up this :
"Your argument is compleyely useless too. Froyo and... moreAndroids only started booming near 2010. So it's pointless to compare phones before 2010. I have to admit, they sucked.
If you want to say "the fact is..." you better only use facts and leave out your opinions. Nothing to discuss there since you used no facts after "the fact is...".
I'll leave you with one little opinion Android is like "it just works right out of the box and you can do more with it as you learn more about it" and iOS is like "decent hardware, poor convenience and poor customization". Does that sound ridiculous? I think your "poor software support and poor quality apps" is even more ridiculous.
keithz, 08 Dec 2011I'm an Android user and I know he's wrong. App developers won't develop for Android first, ju... moreLike you can't pirate on APPle, and most of the device is running android 2.2. 2.3 or else get ported to.
if you're happy with your little grey box apple; good for you, can't wait Apple nasdaq dropping endlessly
even getting free iphone i would throw it away by sell it at low price.
ALonZo, 08 Dec 2011Well worded my friend. Its simple that an iOS device is a lot more stable, a lot more focused ... moreiOS is stable just because it meant for one device and one device only. You are stuck with that one device and the mercy of Apple on how they disk out what you will eat in the future. You don't have any choice, but that make the decision on what you want.
Android is plateform independent and you are on your own to choose any hardware you want. There might be few glitches here in there regarding device integration over such huge varieties of hardwares.
Its your choice. To live in freedom or let a profit based company decide what you want in life.
theaffidavit, 08 Dec 2011U know, your talking about the US. I love the US, lived there for 2 years, but if there is one... moreI totally agree with you! I also live in US but did not grow up in US. USA is always late in my opinion regarding phones. If you travel around the world europe asia africa, you will see varieties of phones and other devices that is better than they are advertising here in US. When buying phone, or other devices I always order online or i have to ask someone to buy me from a particular country for US is constricted they just focus on apple. yes people is going to follow that why because is united states of america one of the most powerful country. Fortunately, i'm not a follower because i have my own brain to make a choice and wants. Also, I am seeing that APPLE's ipad and iphone are the successor of blackberry.
