Apple's market share is declining in Europe, but expands in the US - read the full textEurope is in a tough financial situation and Apple's shrinking market share despite the introduction of the iPhone 4S is a consequence of that. In markets like the US, the UK and Australia, the 4S is selling like hot cakes but continental Europe is another story. Analysts from Kantar Worldpanel...

Makes me laugh at the volumes of people thinking Android is superior to the iOS. Reality check - its not. Android has bugs, security issues, worse of all, different Android OS's for different phones. Ooooh let's have Froyo for one, the Gingerbread for another, ooooh Icecream Sandwich for another......Then we got Adobe Flash: only some Androids have this, the cheaper ones don't have full flash support. How about prices: ok some droids are £50, some are £100, some are £150 etc.... Yes there is about 500 Android phones. Of course they are gonna sell more than the iPhone!!!! Not rocket science!

When I hear about this and that phone being faster than the iPhone, reality check: iPhone 4s was proven to have faster benchmarks in recent tests. It also has the better camera, better video, better app support.

Give up Apple haters. This is just a numbers game stat. The iPhone was and still is the BEST smartphone :)

No point in paring an S2 with decent headphones.

It also lags, the iPhone's camera is better and it doesn't have Bluetooth 4.0

They want a phone with user exchangeable batteries, with sd card capability, with connectivity, with flash capabilities. They also want free apps and not have to buy everything from the Apple nanny who also feels entitled to decide that they can't use porn apps. I absolutely understand why they avoid Apples crappy locked-down hardware with its drm infestation for phones like the Samsung Galaxy s2.

They figured that they would paint non-Apple users as nerds, and paint Apple users as trendy and cool. Little did they know that it would backfire. Now Apple fanboys are seen as clueless technologically preliterate reptiles willing to part with their money for mediocre make-believe cool hardware. Apple's is doomed.

The Galaxy is a superior phone, lots of connectivity, lots of ram, exchangeable battery, sd card, good dual core processor. lots of tweekability to suit an intelligent person. The iPhone lacks all the mentioned above. Sorry no iPhone 4 me. Too smart to be seen with such junk. Oh I forgot to mention the iTunes jail. Forget it!

Europe has a better education system than the US. Apple is about ignorance and brand tribalism. Eventually people wake up and see the light.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2011-12-23 07:48 from kIax - click to readNope, only because no one can tell the future for now. To me, currently gaming is superior on the iPhone, as well as music production with apps such as GarageBand and Amplitube where you can plug in your actual electric guitar or MIDI instruments. Simply no challenge to iOS from anyone right now.

Personally I always try to go for what's best for me. Humans are different, so there will never be one phone that's best for everyone. I can only speak for myself, and currently, the iPhone has one of the best combination of features that I simply cannot find in any other phone.

Apples Market share in Europe (Annual Report)

Average % apple held in Europe = 28%
Average % apple have lost in Europe = 7%
Average % apple currently holds in Europe = 21%

If everything remains constant it means in 3years apple will have an average of 0% market share in Europe and 3x more court cases.

Android users please dont try to talk about iOS multitasking, everytime you just show how clueless you are.

What you just said has been working since first iphone. iOS is fully multitasking OS only 3rd apps are not. iPhone mails has been downloading and uploading in background always.

Tip, every 3rd apps dont freeze, only the apps which has no background use, So most of them. Apps which benefit background use dont freeze, those can send or receive information in background.

Ok, i want to watch movie in my phone, but in the same time i want to make sure my email is still running, not freeze because i'm uploading some stuff to it to be mailed to someone. And in the same time, i want to make sure that the webpage in the background are still running as well. In your case, you open apps to listen to music, but your game and webpage are not running at all, it freeze there or something like pause. So, that is not multitask."

Why would you want stuff like games running in background? My characters in games would die and games will eat battery in background. Same thing for websites. Many times I had apps on android running in background that killed battery really quick. Android's multitasking is more of a con for me. With iOS' multitasking I won't have to worry about apps killing battery in background.

I have both SGS2 and iPhone 4S. SGS2 has lag when you start to install apps on the phone. On the iPhone 4S, it has little stutter when going to spotlight search the first time but other than that I can't find any lag on the phone. Ex-Google already explained why Android was built to lag.

Here is another of a Google engineer explaining hardware acceleration of Android
