Alcatel presents Blaze Duo - an affordable dual-SIM Android - read the full textWe don't hear Alcatel's name that much often anymore, but they're still around and they have nice entry-level Android offerings, like the new Alcatel Blaze Duo OT-918N. As the name suggests, it's a dual-SIM, dual-standby device. The phone has a twin - the OT-918D. They differ in 3G frequencies...

I have Alcatel Blaze Duo OT_918N. I am using dual sim, one which I am using here at Hawaii with T-moible provider and a TM sim which I registered back in the Philippines for roaming services. When I arrived here at hawaii last November 1, I could not access my roaming device. What shall I do? I will appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

I have been looking for a dual SIM business phone for at least 2 years but they all were poor, so I just had to keep using 2 separate phones.

Then a few weeks ago 1 phone broke, so I needed to replace it. I then decided now was the time to get a dual SIM. Researched again, but they were all craap. I gave up until one day I walked into a FNAC in France, by chance, and I saw a very rare display of 5 or 6 dual SIM phones!!! They were mostly Samsung, but also there was this one Alcatel. It was on offer SIMre for a crazy low price of $150 so I just had to buy it and now I am using it for 2 weeks!

It is a very good phone. Not perfect, like all phones, bit it is more important to be functional for my business than to worry about one or two small issues.

Well done Alcatel, you are actually better in the growing dual SIM area than the mighty Samsung or Nokia! Perhaps one day the dual Note will be great, but it's too big, like a tablet, but I only want a smartphone not tablet.

There is some charging issue about this phone, if you put in a lot apps and use it for tethering or hot spot plus w/ 3g and 2g sim, its gonna stop charging w/out you knowing it. My solution for it was to download a battery save app and if possible a task killer app.

Ive research other solution, rooting the phone can be a big help in putting up a lot of your desired app. Together with the 'Stock' apps you are limited to just handful of app. Rooting will eliminate a lot of the useless 'Stock' apps.

Its interchangeable face and back cover are a nice touch. One of the few or probably the only one in the smartphone category. (as far as I know) The only problem is there are no available in the market. you are pretty much stuck with black or either red or blue that comes with box.

Nonetheless its a great phone. Its a big help for me having to do online work. The dual Sim feature is the advantage for me.

Twice Better than the Samsung Galaxy Y that was very popular last summer(PH).

Another thing, you may wanna consider the upcoming dual sim xperia tipo.

I bought this phone off a 'deal-a-day' site recently...it was a steal so worth a gamble. VERY very nice phone as it's turned out, snappy performance, and a stunningly good screen that is indsitiguishable from my Ipod Touch's -crisp, bright with excellent viewing angles. I'd happily pay twice what I did and still consider it a bargain -how many phones ship with an included micro-SD card??? Fantastic bit of kit.
