In Finland these mobiles will cost 1050-1150 euros. My question is: who cares about the prices. It's quite obvious that people who buy these phones don't look at the price tag. So what's the difference if they cost 750 euros, 1150 euros or 1750 euros... Or is someone going to seriously argue that for their practial use these mobiles are worth the price. These are status symbols and mobiles for those who just have to have luxury models...

Will probably buy the 800 Arte (the black one) It really surprised with all the functions that are available! How much will it cost in Euros? probably around 700-800€? :)

i have the 8800 sirocco in black and it is pure class. there is no other word for it. such a basic phone but when you have it and use it you really don't care and worry about the technology and to be honest who uses all the functions, can't wait!!!!

Its a nice phone it looks great. people trash this because it does not have so & so features but so what dont buy it then. I have a e51 for business and the luna or my 8801 for clubbing/parties. It is a status symbol. I had the first 8810 chrome phone and everything in between. Go nokia keep it up. Downside is the battery life. But I usually buy another battery just in case. dont hate because it is expensive and beautifull

I agree that some of the criticism here comes from the fact that it's always easy to trash something expensive. However, let's not kid ourselves: the overwhelming percent of people who are going to buy these mobiles aren't buying them for their specs or high-quality materials. They are buying these mobiles for their "luxury" status and for their "if you want the best, you gotta have these" aura.
Of course, everyone spends their money as they see fit. I buy a mobile every 3-4 years, and currently own Nokia 6500 slide. I'm very happy with it. Some people buy mobiles every 3-4 months, and I'm sure many future-8800 Arte owners are current 8600 Luna -owners. To each his own... My point was that just as the criticism for these kinds of expensive mobiles may come from jealousy, the praising of these mobiles may come from yuppiness.

hy i`m from romania too. i am a student but i would pay even 1500euro but to have a phone like this and with n95`ss capabilities. currently i am gonna stick with n73 music edition but i would really love a 8800 kind (definetely not 8600) with ultra-high capabilities.

Simple beauty!
Can't wait for it to come out. Looking forward to the black one.
THe brown one is nice too, but apparently i read a review that the leather front and back might wear away and won't maintain its apperance???

Look, as some of you have said, you get what you pay for, not only is this phone built extreamly well, and out of the high quality materials, It's also got the features to back up that price tag. Which nokia inflate to some degree on all the 8series to add a dimension of exclusivity. I've had the original 8800 for over 2 years now and I can't say a bad word about it. Also, if you check the specs, it has an OLED display. No other phone I know of at the moment has this. I e-mailed the Nokia, "ask a question" link on the web page questioning the release date. I was told that the 8800 Arte will be available 1st quarter 2008, despite web reports saying it will be available 4th quarter 2007.
