> In reply to Manu @ 2012-01-03 06:34 from 7j%W - click to readI had some hand-on on the phone and like it but not enough for me to switch from my android platform. A 3.7 inch screen is too small to be short listed into any of my future phone purchase, minimum 4.3 inch display such as sensation xe but with a keyboard.

Android phone has a lot more configurations to suit my different needs. A milestone 2 for my daily phone call, sms and email, an optimus 3d for my mobile gaming needs.

Lumia is really really pretty... But mango makes it boring. Most of the time are just plain background with letters.

I have tried a Nokia lumia 800 owned by a friend and am now going to buy one for myself. The touch is better than Apple iPhone4 and way better than all androids that I've come across. The design of Lumia-800 is compact, sleek and it makes i-phones look clunky.
Android phones do not give a consistent user experience. Lumia connects my office and personal life seamlessly. With the games it is a fun-phone too.
Bye Apple for now and farewell android!

I had a quick play on one of these in a shop over Christmas.

The phone was reasonably good and the screen pretty responsive, however I struggled with the Windows interface: it just didn't seem to work as well as Android.

I'm not a fan of touchscreen text input, but I can manage it on Samsung phones. I had problems hitting the right keys on the Nokia though, even using the alphanumeric keypad.

It might just be that the phone/OS has a steep learning curve.

Is it better or not than Samsung/Apple???? Have anyone used all 3, so could compare the experience? I don't think so. Why you guys rant about things you've no idea, are you all 10 years old?! At least give Nokia a chance. This is its FIRST WP7 phone, don't forget, when Iphone and Samsung/Android has been around for 4 years.

I love the phone, but i'm still waiting for 900 to switch from my Optimus 7 (best phone for it's price, almost here in Italy). Sadly the positive comments are considered fake from Android users whos's never used a WP7. C'mon boys there's more that grid line icons out there, taskmanagers, lags, run out memory errors. Wp7 is smooth, fast and innovative, but yes it's no fully customizable. For someone it's worth the price (sorry for my English).

> In reply to aarif @ 2012-01-01 08:58 from Hkub - click to readSuperb battery backup?
Is that why Nokia is trying hard to get an update out that solves short battery life? Is that why Nokia offers people a swap of their Lumia 800, if they suffer from short battery life? What about taking along a separate battery, just in case it runs out? Ohh wait, one can't swap the battery manually.

When it comes to browsing, why is it that people claim this Windows Phone is so great, while it lacks support for some basics? Why do reviews always praise the default browser of Android as the best to get with a phone?

Lumia 800 is really good except that there us lack of apps and no flash support in web browser. These are two great disadvantages.

In my country, the Lumia lags behind a whole bunch of Alcatels. I like it but I still prefer my SE K750.

this is to nokia-
why do you people do everything good,
1.the optimization of the battery by use of a single processor,
2.fluid screen,
3.the to die for design ,
but leave a minute glitch which can hamper sales???in this case the front facing video calling camera!!!!!

And correct!
But that's not only the case of Nokia/Microsoft, a lot of tech sites are also reporting great sales for Lumia, as well as GsmArena...

FAKE! If you want good infos about that, just read this post of Mobile Review:

It's fun to see Nokia and Microsoft marketing people flooding the Internet with fake posts praising Lumia and WP7 and throwing FUD on iPhone and Android in their desperate attempt to boost sales that are not coming...
