This shouldn't be a surprise really. It's made of a solid and superb hardware combined with a slick and very unique software, plus with the amount of money Nokia put into advertising it (especially with Deadmau5). The only deterent here are just fanboys/fangirls of 2 prominent groups. Of course, there are those who only wants basic feature phones.

> In reply to iguano @ 2011-12-29 21:50 from 8BDs - click to readTo be honest, it just looks like a cheap copy of LG's BL40, but that actually says nothing about the quality of the phone, both build and software. For the rest, I can't stop wondering why the Lumia 800 needs to be offered for half the price of it's competitors to be able to sell properly.

> In reply to Sol @ 2011-12-29 22:15 from IVWu - click to readif the lumia's fail, microsoft will buy nokia very cheap, if the lumia's succed, nokia will keep doind things like meego and symbian, because they love to do those things.

i prefer keep nokia in the finland hands, and its only going to happen if the lumia line succed.

> In reply to [deleted post]If you talked about number of apps, we might have believed you. But even the most die-hard iPhone fanboys admit that the N9/Lumia shits all over the iPhone in terms of aesthetics and build quality.

I'm from the Netherlands but I wouldn't even think about buying the L800 (or any other Windows Phone).
None of my friends have one or think about switching to a Windows Phone!
This is why:
No front cam, no expandable memory, no interchangeable battery and you can only exchange files with other Windows phones. (This looks like Apple)
Still only 'few' useable apps.

People buy Nokia no matter what OS is there. For most people in EU - Nokia = phone. Too bad they changed one of best mobile OS (Symbian) for total rubbish with even no basic functionality (Microsoft WP).

Great phone, Nokia Map is great, usable in 100 countries no need to buy a navigation system, Nokia Music enables listening music for free! with radio mix. The design is superb, at last a phone which differentiates to others. Mango WP OS is very easy and user friendly, forget Android,

I have a Lumia 800 Cyan and my wife he 4S, the screen image is really superior on the Lumia, if you have doubts, just watch Home trailer and you will reckon Lumia 800> 4S
