hahaha.. shame on you samsung! lucky me. I'm converting to Sony today!
GB is enough for me..no need for ICS
understandable samsung dw galaxy s 2 update will make ur fans happy enough
Anonymous, 04 Jan 2012lol who cares... were GS owners really thinking they would get anywhere past Froyo? Technol... moreIt's obvious we were gonna at least pass froyo. Though true. The technology is just moving too quickly and eventually older phones won't have the hardware to keep up. It will eventually happen to the GS2, Note, and even GS3
I hope you guys didn't seriously think Samsung will actually give anything to their existing customers, did you?
Samsung is a bunch of two faced liars who can't ever keep up with ANY promise or comment, they never keep up with any promised release date, they have the worst customer service i've seen in my life and after-sale support is well, you see how it is. Non existent. They just expect you to change 500+ EUR phones like underwear just because they are to freakin lazy and incapable to release any kind of update to their loyal customers. Well FU Samsung. I seriously wonder why ppl still buy their devices in such large numbers with the way how they treat existing customers.
You'd expect such crappy behavior from some cheap no name Chinese brand and even those sometimes surprise you with some goodie, but you clearly don't expect to see such behavior from someone like worldwide known Samsung. I just wish their sales would like seriously plummet because of this drastically and even then i'm not sure they'll get it why such thing even happened...
For me, Samsung never again. It's just sad we all have to learn that the hard way...
I've already updated my SGS with IGS from a community release. ICS runs fine on my SGS ;-]
Just root your galaxy S to CM9 ICS build 12
Good thing I sell my Froyo only Tab (7.0) and my Ace, then I buy GNote. It's an amazing gadget. I'm very happy with the superb picture quality and performance of the GNote. I hope the ICS update(for GNote) will be released sooner ^_^
Curious... my Galaxy S seems to be running ICS just fine so far... thank you.
What!? How about the S Plus.. I just bought one 2 months ago. The doomed GTalk in Gingerbread will not connect to other account than the default... and you're telling me "no update"!?
Thank you, Samsung... I'll try another phone next time and you just made me glad I bought my wife a SE instead of a Gio.
Hope your sales will go real down!
There are going to be a lot of trolls and bashers, but Sammy is just looking out for people. On a normal level of non rooted, non rommed, non overclocked devices it will probably be sluggish. What good will that do. The tech is just advancing very quickly. However if you are rooted, rommed, and overclocked you know there will be source codes and roms to do so on your own.
lol who cares... were GS owners really thinking they would get anywhere past Froyo?
Technology marches on. Your GS does not.
Hatinnnnnnnnnnnnng Samsung. Soooo loser company.
Ouch! That hurts. But the Galaxy S and its users must understand that nothing lasts forever.Even love fades. At least they should be grateful Samsung has been with them every step of the way since Eclair.Mark you HTC Desire and SE xperia X10 users have a completely different story to tell. And what about the Wave S8500,the younger sibling of Galaxy S,he has not, until now that bada 2.0 is beckoning, have had anything to smile about for two solid years. So as a consolation to the S and it's users; just know there are many users out there wishing they even had Gingerbread experience. After all, if you could afford the S during its heydays, then the Nexus is not too much to ask from you.
This is way too funny - my sides are about to split. Guess samsung were just waiting for that 18 month cycle to tick over.
In other news, the Samsung Focus was updated to Mango recently
I am a big fan of samsung smartphone i had omnia then omnia 2 then galaxy s then galaxy s2 this sort of attitude forces the fans like me to think before bying a samsung phone. If SE experia line which have the same specs (as a matter of fact galaxy s is better in internal storage and stuff) can get a ICS update then yo not galaxy s. SE experia arc series also has custom UI they dnt claim that there will be memory issues.
This will hurt galaxy s users initially but in the long run samsung is the one who will be in trouble.
P.S samsung has started behaving like APPLE and this sort or attitude is one of the main reason i hate apple.
I don't get it...
i9000 should be as powerful as the 2011 xperia serie which is getting ics...
Thank you Samsung... I will not buy any of your products anymore. What you're trying to tell me is that my Galaxy S Plus bought 2 and a half months ago will never get an update to at least some of the functionalities of Android 4.0 (darn GTalk still isn't able to connect to another account than the default one, for example)? I hope you'll rot in hell!
Those who need need new technology just sell your phone and purchase a new one . This process you have to repeat at least twice in a year.
