Nokia N95 8GB gets assembled video

Nokia N95 8GB gets assembled video - read the full textIf you happened to wonder how mobile phones are manufactured then you might find the next video very interesting. We accidentally stumbled across this intriguing video coming straight from Nokia’s...

I just recently got to play around with a friend's N95 (original, not 8GB) and was utterly disappointed with the build quality. It was too "plasticky;" felt like I was handling a toy. Did Nokia have to cut corners on the build quality to cram in all that technology into it?
My Samsung i600 on the other hand, is a world apart in terms of build quality: SOLID (despite the 'thin-ness').

I worked for moto in the past assembling when I was 18. It's the worst job in the world. Horrible pay. And I promise you they don't get free phones. Inspection is the WORST, your eyes get so tired. They would rotate people off inspection every 2-3 hours since there is no way you can do efficiently your whole shift. Bad ones get through all the time. There is no way a human being can do the exact same thing over and over for hours and hours and do a quality job.

Not all N95 phones have software problems ... mine N95(not the 8GB) hasn't crashed a single time and I have it for over 6-7 months.

Man, notice how carefully the 1st women checks the phone after each part is installed... the 2nd women just slaps the back cover on and dumps it on the charger (or whatever the holder is)... yeah, not every phone is made equal... haha

ps sorry that last one was so long

pps yes the 8gb is the same size as the normal one. the only noticeable differences are the obvious black color change, and the very very slightly increased screen size (from 2.6" to 2.8")

Great video GSMarena! Thanks for posting it. As the happy owner of a new N95-3, I want to say thanks to all the hardworking assemblers of the greatest phone to grace this planet (IMHO of course you. Also, to those still questioning whether to choose between an iphone and the N95 - the two are obviously very very different mobiles that achieve very very different results. I opted for the N95 and a 16GB ipod touch instead, which is a great combo (N95 for calls, unbeatable camera!, gps, music, and wifi during everyday usage) and the touch for longer durations (trips, flights, long bouts at work). But truly, ever since I really started using all the features of the N95, my ipod touch sits at home ALOT. Two of my roommates have the iphone, and they both really like it, but it simply does not measure up features wise, it really doesn't. Also, if it makes any difference, I used to live down the street from Steve Jobs (and he went to my high school), and even though he claims he only makes $1/year, he's still a class-A prick who undercuts everyone he can to make that extra dollar. Maybe after watching that N95 8GB assembly video some of you iphone fans should look into its assembly. Here's a hint: the factory is alot darker, the workers are alot younger, and they don't make a tenth as much as a Nokia factory worker...I'm not lying, I study research this for a living. Still feel comfortable buying an iphone? Of course you are...

Pretty sweet video. Always wanted to see bits and pieces of the assembly of phones and thats a good one. Yes, those are Vodafone's packages. So the brand is tagged at the plant itself!
Those guys who can't see the video - its just probably your video card or flash player. Its a youtube video - so you should be able to as the requirements are not too high.
