16 MP Polaroid Android HD smartphone does optical zoom - read the full textHey, look - it's Big Foot! No, it's just the Altek Leo, a creature that appears occasionally, the local newspaper writes about it and then disappears for another year. This time there's a big name attached to it at least, so maybe this time it will get a proper market release. Meet the Polaroid...

Please increase the battery capacity and make the viewing screen at least 4.0" and I will likely buy it. This is a must have for Android loving photo enthusiasts. Great to have when going outdoors. Perfect.

I like the price3 of the phone but I don't like its thickness, its design, its small screen, and its weak battery. It's been 3 years since my last 1000MaH battery and this is unacceptable, sometimes I'm not even satisfied with the battery performance of my atrix 4G this is bound to be worse...

innovation that comes too late. why ...
because Japan had earlier (about 1 year ago) has made a Keitai (mobile phone title in Japan) with similar features, camera phones 16MPix for Sharp, Sony-Ericsson and Fujitsu, and even now has penetrated resolusi17.1 / 5 MP!
before the new NFC also popular to say right now, but Nokia and other handset vendors have introduced this feature a few years ago.
but Japan has made the NFC this feature as standard features that must be owned by Japanese mobile phone vendors since 2004 with the name of Felica!
Japanese mobile phone just does not exist (rare) released globally for some reason, so explain it would be difficult if not tried it myself.

What do you mean Altek that occasionally appears? The Altek Leo was made available a whole year ago already, I've purchased mine at the Taipei Airport! And international users can also buy it online via various websites, there's even a facebook site that sells it. But personally I've hated the phone since I got it, so many annoying bugs, random crashes, poor Android 2.1 features, and yes the battery is 1020mAh runs out of power at the end of the day. The camera features are very nice, 14MP sharp pics, best feature is the 3X zoom and xenon flash. But it tends to crash during camera mode, so really all those features are a pain to use. Tech support is available but only if you speak Mandarin Chinese...

Sadly I'm still going consider this new Kodak version because I need a good camera + phone combo for my travels. Hopefully Kodak will force them to iron out the bugs before releasing the product.

This looks quite nice given the price. If they fix the battery, it might be a popular choice for people who yak a little on their phone but need a nice camera on hand
I hope Canon joins in this new venture as well. For long now we have had the phone companies poach on the Digital photo territory and sadly , they have yet to provide a unit that can give great pictures and make good calls. Now maybe the Camera companies can achieve that.

N8 is still better! 1/1.83 inch sensor, f/2.8 aperture, 12 MP and Carl Zeiss Optics.

720p videos and the batteries just 1020 mAh it's biggest disappointment for me! I waiting excellent camera phone so long time and when I reading about batteries and video camera I very sad.

What you marketing doing? They must already know that with such the photo camera with zoom need even more powerful batteries! Even without this camera these batteries so bad and I sure just for half or even less day.

So why this phone with 1020 mAh batteries and 720p video? Now 2012!

By the way some people talking about ugliness. Yes, I agree phone looks like from 2004 but I don't care. I only need ultimate camera sensor, excellent batteries, and much as possible other specifications (example Samsung Galaxy S II and ultimate camera phone - Nokia N8.

So KODAK, add more powerful batteries and when your product hit the market then sales will improved, otherwise you fail.........

> In reply to rvalle @ 2012-01-11 17:11 from 2m{9 - click to readme too, 1080p HD capture use lots space and not pratical at all, I had never used it on my phone... I wish Samsung or Sony will make such phone as well, but I probably will buy it if it has better battery.
