wats the point of buying when they just leave it to die a quiet death? they buy just for the patents....if they pump resources into motorola, manufacturers will start moving to other platforms and develope further...such as tizen from intel, bada from samsung, or windows from microsoft, or even revive meego of nokia......

i can google know that samsung is not a reliable partner just look at how much the latest bada resemble android os, the google nexus made by samsung for google would have lot' s of problem, but when their make their own galaxy those problem magically disapeal, google know their need to ditch samsung & get a own cellphone mfg.
but i bet samsung still need to milked on google for the first hand android os, by hook or by crooks samsung would make sure the google motorola deal failed, offcoz untill samsung fully obtained cloned android into their bada tizen os, then they would as google to take a hike & buzz off.

Google and Motorola will be a great combination. I have always loved Motorola since the Startac days. Android has been the most efficient OS for be. I get the best of iOS and WM 6.5 in one package. Never had an unstable android device. 2.3 is very stable for me. Off topic but the UI of my Atrix 2 is a lot more smoother and stable than of my Atrix 4G

I've had android for 3 years now, and apart from a couple of niggles, caused by myself (rooting etc) I've not had a problem. Very stable OS, not many bugs at all and the bugs that do exist are very small and unnoticable really.

Before you get all defensive about your chosen OS, I've tried all of them, iOS, WP7, Android, Symbian, Bada.. I have to say out of all the OS's I've experienced, Android has the best package for ME. It couples a solid smooth OS with the ability to modifiy if wanted.

I do hope this monopolistic and anti-competitive quest of Google gets rejected by EU. Google needs to get punished for infringing and stealing patented technologies and their attempt to acquire Motorola proves that they are stepping on people's toes and stealing patents. They are trying to acquire Moto for its patents because they know they are infringing and will lose the fight. Google is the most evil among tech companies. They need to be brought down.
