so, atleast 5-6 years more...
5-6 years is good enough for me to keep my loyalty toward Symbian today......

Great job by Nokia for planning to release the update simultaneously to all Symbian S^3 devices. Now compare this to all the other Android devices where the manufacturers left them to rot with the older, laggy and buggy versions of Android. While iOS, WP7 and Symbian are standardized and stable, Android is a cluttered and clunky mess overall.

As a web developer, I can tell you now that android is dead unless google begin to standardize the platform. Fortunately/Unfortunately I think they'll do precisely this once the new Motorola emerges.
P.S Belle is a lot more stable than android, but sadly I think Nokia is likely to kill S3 off after Donna, at which point, the only updates people receive will be for bug fixes

A smartphone requires not only that the phone is smart but you also! Android works best for people who are not strangers to Linux, if you are not there are no limit in the system, only the phone. Nokia have excellent hardware where the limit is not the system either - it is you. Apple have usually three limits (why Apples marketshare can never exceed 20%: you, the system and the hardware. Don´t talk about people you don´t know like "the Symbian owners must be disappointed". Do you know them all? I am certanily not disappointed having Nokia N8 / Symbian Anna. It is not the best choise but the best choise available. To me. Because I am smart enough to buy the best hardware available. And smart enought to transform the software to the best available also. Because Symbian (and even more Android) lets you. If you can. Can you?

> In reply to Rajan rao @ 2012-01-31 07:50 from t5}% - click to readMost people choose the system they are happy with. I chose the N8 'cause I don't like the Apple ideology and found Android more a hash of ideas in constant need of tweaks (called customisations) to be usable. That the N8 has been given a new lease of life, first with Anna, now soon with belle, it's just a real bonus. I've been happy with the Anna update and hope Belle will be just as good. Should Android or IOS be worried? I think not. People will always advocate one OS over another and it's always down to personal choice. S^3 has good core features and my N8 runs very well which I don't really want to trade for any other just now. As long as my N8 still works, I'll be staying with S^3.

Nokia rest in peace.will soon bury my N8 soon since it is not even worth a Nokia 1100. Frequent restarts and totally faulty device sucks.
Shameless Nokia Fans don't compare Nokia with Android Platform since Nokia doesn't have even the lowest of standard to compete with Android.Better don't waste money on Nokia make use of it by paying Google and Android.
When world moves move along otherwise you will be left alone.Bye.I said what i had to say.
Myself OLD NOKIA FAN BUT NOT ANY MORE.Now using Nexus.Believe me it is just awesome.
