Nokia patent pumps up the megapixels

Nokia patent pumps up the megapixels - read the full textSeems like Nokia aren't wasting any time and have filed a patent application on an extraordinary new slider cameraphone. Besides the intriguing construction Nokia-N93-style, the fine print under...

A lot of pointless comments on here. Looks interesting, I would wait until it is released before slating it! Personally speaking, if that is what is required to get 6MP on a phone I would wait a while till the technology improves rather than cram it in like that.....

Go Nokia for always raising the stakes.

As for the SE fanboys, as has been said already Nokia have just hit the 40% market share which is by far the biggest. By all means let us know your opinion, on the relevant thread, but I just wanted you to know that based on sales figures the people of the planet disagree with you.

Size doesn't matter, or do you people never get smarter??? The N95 and N93i are the fatest phones available. Suprisingly they sold over 22 million copies each. The slimmest phones of samsung only reach maximum 15 million copies. Says enough.

The Size an Weight of both the N93 an N93i really kept me away from even having a chance of using these two models, even if they had a good camera an video function, its the Size Nokia has got really got to get sorted out if this new mobile would be a success as you buy mobiles to just slide into you pockets but this will really be to bulky for that if its the same as the previous N93s,an you don"t just buy a mobile because of the camera on it so Please Nokia get this mobile made really slim an not bulky

@ liptherapy

Actually people like you do not know anything about mobile phones.
it seems that you used a lot of mobiles. What you are ? a salesman in a mobilestore or a pick pocketer. HA.... Nokia is the best of best no doubt ab that. Have you ever used u600. Compare it with n73. You will understand which is better. Dont make any bad comments ab any phones without experiencing it.

nice idea to put a camera with alot of megapixles in a phone but that is all they are doing, they obviously dont care about the looks and size of the phone and that will be a big problem when it comes to selling it.

Sony Ericsson is the best! Nokias are excellent when seen in paper (specs, look...) but when held for a while... You notice it is simply not a SE!....

Absolutely right ! SE feels good in the hand.I have owned Nokia 6170,Nokia N75,Nokia N80,Motorolla L7,Nokia E65(best nokia phone IMO),Samsung U600(worst 3mega pixl camera) SE w300i,SE k800i,SE w810i....i really dont like the way nokia feels in the hand..they are heavy and bulky ...nokia phones only are awesome before you buy it.After buying the experience is just regretable ! I never got dissaopointed with my SE phone.Pll say Nokia last longer! well my SE never stoped working and best thing IT NEVER FREEZES unline nokia !

This isn't actually a bad idea. Sure, a heavy phone...but honestly...what does it matter? You want a phone with functionality...not something as light as air and half as useful.
This practically eliminates the need for a camera...another expensive bit of kit...all the while offering you games, bluetooth MMS/SMS etc... It look great! No argument!

The design looks like a combination of N93, N81, N91 (the music keys), and N73 (the joystick). Nice innovation by Nokia!

Sagems VS9: Sellotaped Digital Camera to main screen and 12 hour warranty. Also Aldi MP3 player glued to the charger

Why does everyone keep judging it by size? If u want a small phone then get a Nokia 2310 or something and try impressing people with THAT! Personally I think the phone 'trend' stage is gradually coming to an end and the new features/improved specs are coming back.
