Personally I think this one is ugly as hell. I'm waiting for Fujitsu to start selling their Roku Roku feature phones outside of Japan. I'd get a Roku Roku for my parents who quite frankly has no need for the smart phones i got them.

You know what people, not everyone can afford to buy touchscreen smartphones. You people only look on one side of the coin, you never consider different possibilty here.

> In reply to brynn @ 2012-02-09 19:42 from nGQS - click to readThere was a high end flip phone running on Android with dual touchscreen (yes, dual!) called MT810. Unfortunately Moto only offered it in China and cost a fortune.

Flip phones are still important these days, with the elderly being one of the segment.

My mom and in-laws are all using flip phones, being the best in terms of ease of operation, with the best voice quality.

My father in-law is already using the EX-211 (previous Gleam) and he only uses the phone for phone calls, music and radio, that's it! His son gave him a low-end LG slide phone and was nowhere as good.

My mother-in-law is using an old V191. Her 2nd son gave her a bar phone with huge buttons, but it either ran out of battery quickly or made calls by mistake, as she put the phone in her purse among other stuff.

Mom is using V6 and K3. Dad used the V3X before he went to heaven...really wish he can bring the phone with him so I can make video call with him.

Flip phones are also good in terms of making emergency call. Think about the action needed
1)open the flip
2)press the speed dial number.
That's it!

Think about with most touchscreen phones, one has to
1)Unlock the screen
2)Click to the phone menu / icon
3)Press the speed dial

and on a touchscreen phone one can't "feel" where the button is, which maybe crucial in case of emergency.

I really miss all the different designs n form factors that we used to be able to choose from.. Now all phones look more or less the same.. This phone looks pretty good.. It can be used as a second phone.. Like for a work number.. Wish manufacturers would start being innovative again..

Finally! I wish more companies would make clamshells again. Put at least 3G and a good gps and people would snap it up. One of the big reasons smartphones are selling so well is because people don't have Any decent feature phones.

A return to old skool form, thank goodness motorola has stuck to its roots with this phone, i was losing count how many rectangular slabs there were on market. The best one moto created but never released was the dual screen clamshell v1000 which was cancelled in 2004, that looked really ahead of its time and still does.

Looks cool. I think Motorola should release it to free market ( with no contract). There are many people who don't like touch phone and would like to get this phone.
