i'm sure nokia has optimise belle on dis even without a gpu, ignorant ppl.
AhmedDabbagh, 15 Feb 2012i live in the middle east , and working for a big mobile company . The users here are not look... moreSame here in souther africa. Nobody cares about android, symbian or wat ever. The know of iphone as a rich guyz phone and nokia as quility for money. Samsung comes somewhere in the middle.
Mark, 15 Feb 2012For Christ's sake GSM Arena. Get off your high horse and stop bitching about bargain Nokia's t... more...well, they did! just check the title of the news you are posting comments.
And i give total reason to gsmarena as i only imagine how they (gsmarena) are teasing Nokia to do better! Why release a new version of 5800/x6 just diferent design! Yea, the processor is better but you still get the almoust same perfomance as said above!
Said this can almost guarantee all you that im big time fan of nokia, probably more than you and i say:
"you should had known better", Nokia!
I own a n97 and my sis have this 500. I feel them the same apart from the keyboard and the 32gb.
i successfully updated my Nokia 500
and wow, they have the Angry Birds installed on the phone!!!!
For Christ's sake GSM Arena. Get off your high horse and stop bitching about bargain Nokia's that don't have dual core performance. Why don't you laud the fact that Nokia actually updates its handsets, unlike a lot of other manufacturers?
Yuppieeeeeeeeeee!! Right now i'm updating belle OS for my nokia 500 :) :)
i think belle will work better on 500 than Anna...as belle has shown performance improvement on every device.that means better ram management is there. Nokia has also increase the frame rate for video recording from 15fps to 30fps. that shows 500 will handle belle better
Don't know about the 500, but I just installed Belle on my E7. I've always been happy with my phone, but Belle has really improved my phone (configuring the home screens is great). Really makes me want to buy the button less N9 even more, which is strange for me as I like the qwerty keypad.
I also used the Public Transit app. that you suggested for the buses and it was a perfect experience. The GPS enabled starting point is pretty cool.
Anonymous, 15 Feb 2012who cares for no gpu, it's better for calls unlike i....Just say it, it makes better calls than the iPhone. If the Nokia 500 is just for phone calls I don't think it deserves the Belle update, since it doesn't change its phone-calling performance. You should send a letter to Nokia objecting the upgrade.
[deleted post]Compare the 500 vs the 701. They're not kidding, the thing has no GPU. IMO the 500 is just a 5800/X6 with an overclocked CPU. Owning one I can tell you how badly it needs one.
[deleted post]U dont know about mobiles... gsmarena is right... belle need a gpu... then with out gpu it cant handle belle
I am tried to update my friend's new E7 ( 2 weeks old ) with nokia suite connected in my laptop. It downloaded the software in pc , removed the anna from mobile and started to install new softwear in phone. Install process continued in whole night. At morning I disconnected the phone and came to know it dead. I explained this in nokia care they informed this issue is not under warranty and charged me 200 SR (53 $)finally agreed for 150 SR (40$).I will get this phone after 7 days and my money lost with the trust I have in nokia.I am in Dammam Saudi Arabia.
I posted once about how I think Nokia is being defamed on this site and guess what...my post got deleted. Something isn't right here
I'm Nokia fan too, but SERIOUSLY, what GSMArena said that it's wrong? The phone is slow and lags a lot because there's no GPU, and certanly with the Belle update things won't be getting any better because the GPU still lacking, that's just the truth.
Nokia 500 was a serious joke, how can Nokia launch a smartphone in 2011 without a GPU?
Seriously, I love Nokia too, I have a C6-01 with the Belle update and it works incredibly well, GSMArena also tried the Belle update on the N8 on their blog and they also agree that it's much better and smoother, you can almost forget that you are using a phone with old CPU. So GSMArena needs to simply adore every thing that comes from Nokia now? They are only being unbiased, they are not bashing anything, they are not married with Nokia like a lot of people here...
Reading is just half of the story and understanding what is written is the other half.
I think the Author is just commenting on the negatives of the Nokia 500's hardware and I'm sure GSM Arena is quite impartial.
