These numbers clearly say why android gain so much market share, it's because of those cheap almost free android phones, reason is not the one which all android fans try to tell that android is better.
Zte and huawei was the biggest gainers and also in top5, both them make cheap android phones. Which only sell because of their prices.

The article misinterprets the Microsoft marketshare as showing a decline in WP7. The chart shows the combination of Windows Phone 7 and Windows Mobile. While MS overall share is down, WP7 has increased marketshare slightly while Windows Mobile has all but disappeared.

Its Really Good that Nokia managed to sell more phones than others even in its Transition Period, No great models were released for first 10 months of 2011 but now its different, Nokia has many Dual sim phones( Asha,c2-01,02) Windows phones ( Lumia 900,800,710,610) & New Symbian devices. it clearly says for 2012 Nokia is going to sell very impressive number of handsets & definitely WP sales will pick up & windows market share will go up to 10%..
If windows phone gains market share then credit should go to Nokia because they are the only one who promoted Wp so aggressively.... Samsung HTC just kept WP as a part of their portflolio & never attempted to promote it till Lumia was released. LONG LIVE NOKIA

I'm using both, android(galaxy note) & ios(ip4s), but I think that Windows phone 8 is the next BIG thing & it'll take on the top spot in another year or so.

It is the number of Production and not the number of sales, according to the market the highest number of phones sold is by Apple, then comes the Android phones, Nokia as of this current moment with the number of phones sold sits 5th on the world market. Android is taking over and I am sure in the next few years Android is going to Rule.
