Well, I've had my GS2 rooted now for almost a year, and I've run a million different roms on it, settling for MIUI... which basically gives you the power and control of Android, but the user-friendliness of iOS...
Sure it's nice to have new software updates, but after Gingerbread now, there's very little improvement over things... I've tried a few ICS roms and certainly everything is a lot slicker and there are more useful options, etc. BUT like many have said, Touchwiz is easily the ugliest software (but all you need to do is get rid of it by using ADW or LauncherPro or even SPB 3D... all are very good!
I wouldn't get hung up on updates, tbh... it won't do any more when you do get them, they don't make that much different to the overall experience... Enjoy what you have! :)

Jelly Bean will have a pink theme and Key Lime Pie alight green theme...Android should have serious updates to lauch a whole new version of Android not just a new colour scheme.

> In reply to erickch @ 2012-03-05 11:51 from LJVW - click to readAcually no. Jellybean is for both tablets and phones and will be the succssor to ICS, which in turn is the upgrade path from both GB and Honeycomb. Hence why the Asus Transformer is now getting ICS updates, while the Ssmsung Galaxy S2 will be geting one very soon too.

I've been waiting so long now it's a wonder I've not been receiving pyschopherapy treatment ;-). Well I'm waiting on it for a couple of Google handsets.
I'm hoping the Nexus S turns up soon, so I can try it out in it's native format. As for the Galaxy S II, which is an O2 firmware I imagine I will be pushing daisy's before that arrives ;-).

Looks like ANDROID/GOOGLE has to many updates. Something is wrong at GOOGLE they con't decide what good for users. I heard most of the updates has bugs and requires fixing so that means their updates are not really done perfectly.
I would say update once a year will be good, but do it perfectly.
