Hot Windows Mobile 7 insight

Harlekkin,
You do know that Apple has much less hardware configurations,applications,etc... to support than Microsoft ,right ?
You do also know that Microsoft is much more easily sueable than Apple for when they try to add more features to their O.S,right ?
So stop comparing what can't be compared.
The day Mac OS X will run on any PC and with as remotely the same quality and while being much more open, then it would be another matter.
This said,it is true that Microsoft can do a much better job on several aspects of their software.
For example Vista could have been much faster and much less ressources hungry,if Microsoft had done better choices.

MICROSOFT HAS LOST ITS TOUCH
===============================
Microsoft is always running after MacOS when it comes to being first-to-implement. Windows, fair to say, is the most widely used OS, but also the most troublesome.
How long did it take for VISTA to actually get released? It was announced nearly 2 years ago and all it could offer was a "facelifted" version of XP.
People envied MacOS for the cool looks and the complete package it could offer.
And the best about MacOS: They are quick to implement and update their OS. The iPhone has certainly been improved from when it first came out.
Microsoft will have to think hard and outside the square to come up with something THAT ISN'T already available!

I think windows mobile 6 is a confusing programme because it is neither phone nor touch screen centric.
Ideally their mobile programme should have two operating systems
with 1 purely for one handed operation without a sylus.
I miss Symbian alot and if Nokia had a phone with a touch screen I would be first in line to buy it.
Windows given its size and level of expertise does not a make a graphically pretty user friendly product.....They need to introduce mobile 7 right now if they want to fend of the I phone.
KISS Keep it simple stupid but make it visually engaging.

some people are dumb enough to be a fanboy or strong supporter of a particular brand. in my opinion, say that windows really copy or even carbon copy-in iPhone's UI. then others might follow too. in the end, we have more choice, don't we? more choice means, there won't be a single company that bragging so much about their UI that might eventually rises the price. more choice means the tendency to have lower price. i believe iPhone is expensive now because they're selling point is "how cool you can interact with the phone". if we have more iPhones with different brand, i'll say go for it. even to microsoft.
in business practice, it's common to "take" what's available and "make" it better with our own "way" then sell it as our own product.
just my 2 cents.

Screen samples are really promising, big respect, but must wait to see it in action, especially that camera-motion sensor thing...
To be fair, even some things look pretty iPhone-like, Microsoft Mobile has been using touch screen for a long time, and the direction to make the menus suitable for finger-touches is just an evolutionary thing.
And also Symbian has been touching all along with UIQ.

IPhone can't even get close to what other companies have accomplished so far. IPhone is a joke biggest pile of doodie stick. Apple always been behind everyone else they just make their stuff user friendly but incompatible with anything out there. Apple was going to realse ipod and any other audio device under ACC but since NO ONE was going to buy their product they had to add ad-ons like mp3 WOW. I can go on and on and on for days how much Iphone ipod or any other device by apple just dont' quite cut it.

Shaking an expensive cell phone around and 'tossing' pictures between phones is one of the dumbest concepts I have ever heard. Just like the Zune, interesting ideas but not practical or particularly useful. I love wm6 as a platform, but come on guys, write software for kinetic scrolling etc. and admit apple had good ideas... don't create something stupid so you look innovative.

Who ever says that Microsoft is copying again from Apple. You have to know, since the first computer was made, it was apple that was copying.
Next off; Let's talk Iphone.
So tell me, what does the Iphone have above HTC PDA's with WM6? Oh let's see, it has better hardware, oh dear, only the screen is better.
And maybe those few extra gigs. MicroSD 16GB to the rescue for expanding WM6 phones.
Oh wait it has a better sound quality, you've got me fooled there, it's worse than chinese products.
Let's talk about the camera, whoa, a cheap nokia VGA camera kicks Iphone's ass.
Review the OS. Besides multitouch, it can hardly be called; 'revolutionary'.
------------------------------------------------------
Let's see what touch devices Nokia will bring in 6 months. You can expect these specifications
* 3 - 4 inch - multitouch - 16 ~ 165 Million colors
* 6 or 8 MP Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar with 3x optical zoom Zenon Flash
* GPS with Sirf III 20 channel
* Triple slide system (full qwerty/gsm pad/media keys)
* S60 9.5 Touch UI
Now that can be called revolutionary, and will crush the Iphone 1 and 2 in all means.

Bill Gates! Dont just upgrade the IU, upgrade the Pocket IE as well! Your web browser sucks! The best web browser is nokia browser. I am using N85 8GB right now and with the latest firmware, I can open all flash browser. Once again, your web browser (Pocket IE) sucks!

Microsoft has an unfortunate history of taking existing ideas/businesses and building upon or buying them. This seems to be the case here. No one can deny the IPhone has shaken up UI development in the mobile phone world a little bit. It's natural to try and out-do or better these interfaces. One thing is for sure, it will be interesting to see MS's take on how they believe the revolution should continue and I think it will be something to behold. I personally never liked the WM platform - it wasn't stable or practical enough but these appears to remedy that. Bring on 2009 already!

a admit that iphone revolutionized the way the user interacts with its phone, but i completely disagree that microsoft is trying to copy it.
phones based on windows mobile aren't even comparable to iphone. advanced windows mobile users can and probably understand this.
as for you people who want to use your phones for its basic features windows mobile is not a choice for you.

Lol at the person who said its over for iPhone. WM7 is a complete rip off, carbon copy of what the iPhone has right now in my hand. Looks like Windows is up to their old tricks again watching Apple then copying them, like they have done with OSX, Vista is Tiger which Mac owners had 2 years ago.
Windows was 2 years late like they are going to be with this software in 2009. By that time Apple will be on the 3rd maybe even 4th iPhone which will have something even better than this WM7.

what people don't undersstand is that iPhone isnt a pocket office. like i forgot what his name is said, its not a smart phone. its just not smart enough to be one. lol, but back to the point is, iphone is just an good mp3 phone with a little more features. What made it sand out is the new control system which was a break to old fasion phones. However, i just hope wm7 can do somethin of their own than just making it seem more like a rip off iphone's os. iphone is great n all (though i dun like apple) just gotta admit, they did a ok job for their first phone. but in the end, wm provides more user freedom. its more for people who does much much more with their phones than normal. and keeps everything more updated. iphone is more for just, i bought it, syc it, i don't want to bother with it anymore expect for uploading junk into my phone. not saying u cant on iphone, just its less meant for that n much much more of a hassle. anyway, windows, please just do something nice n new with wm7. such as, running xp apps! jkjk, but once again im loving my freedom with windows.

the iphone is not a smartphone, so the speed of the basic features cant be compared with a smartphone... instead compare it with a standard nokia och sonyericsson phone, and the iPhone is the slower one.
The User interface on the iphone is not as good as we thought when we first saw it. Its a nice step forward. But so was the Neonode N1, it just wasnt a commercial sucsess...
Plus, several of research-centras around the world was already working on new ways to control your mobile before the iPhone was first made public. Its not fully developed, it just forces other manufactors to release user interfaces, that they didnt have the time to finish properly.
But some companys certainly got a much needed wake-up...
If not for the iPhone, we would have seen these kind of interfaces, within a year or so... but better developed...
And nokia touchphones would have been 1 or 2 years further down the line (I know, they have done one or so model in the past).
The future looks bright, and by 2010, we should see some mobiles, with real initiuative controls.
Hopefully, by then, with decent camera modules as well...
