Stability of the platform is paramount. It is useless if it drags the system slow even with the latest firmware.
There is nothing more proud than having a single core Neo V which run faster n smoother than a dual core set.
It is a matter of how well your mobile phone can perform and how well you understand how it operates.

Peace to you.

sony have announced that they will be releasin ics updates for the xperia arc s, neo v, and ray from mid-april to the end of may. but for the rest of us with the xperia arc, play (thats me!!), mini, mini pro, neo, pro and active we will have to wait till the first batch is updated. then sony wil start rolling out the updates for us.
hope this helped :)

Unlike some visitors to GSMArena I am prepared to wait patiently for the finished version of ICS for my Xperia Play as I paid good money for it and don't want my mobile wrecked by using unfinished software.
I have just ordered a special rubber protective case or it and hope to use it for at least another year.
A big thanks to Sony for giving us ICS when it finally arrives.

htc and samsung never gave any promises for ics and yet their phones are already having it (ok the good ones).. i hope sony keeps its promise or i can see maaany displeased customers... the weird thing is a friend just bought a neo v and it comes with ics out of the box..

We've had no word from Sony regarding ICS since last December, and they said end of March early April for xperia 2011 devices getting the ICS update, my phone is up for renewal soon if they fail to keep to this no more Sony phones for this chap.

I'd rather wait for another month or two until Sony had built stable firmwares instead of being on time but we're given buggy firmwares.

The icons, widget and also that cosmic flow theme look simillar with xperia NXT series.. Is this mean that the next ICS for all 2011 xperia family will get the same UI costumization like NXT series? If it is, I hope Live Walkman would get customize equalizer and clear bass like NXT series also.. Am I asking too much?? heh.. Coz seriously.. I am really disappointed with my Live Walkman in term of music quality (through headset)compare to my previos w902 with clear bass.. At least there's something to proud off with walkman in 2011 xperia family..

> In reply to Kepas @ 2012-03-30 13:33 from 0xNb - click to readI'm afraid that a lot of people will switch their phones in the meantime so this "better late than.." doesn't really work for me. I'm checking the OTA 3 times a day because the upgrade was supposed to come out at the end of March and now they came up with Beta..
I'm thinking about switching to One S when it comes out (still thinking - the crappy camera and audio.. ehh) and it appears that I might not even see this ICS update.. ever, if it'll be late like that.

Company is Junk, I am also having their phone and waiting for ICS update. They were saying that they will launch ICS update for xperia line in march and don't know when it will be released. I think that will be Mrch 2013. they just loosed their market due to such nonsense work.. will never buy a sony phone again.

I just wish they'd hurry up and make a Play2 already!!

You know what... in hindsight... I think I'd have been best served with this instead of my GS2, purely for the emulators...

However, there were a few too many compromises with the Play (single core, low RAM, poor screen, no radio, etc.) that prevented me from getting it... I'm surprised they've got ICS running on it actually...

GSMArena, please do some digging before stating some bad things.
The ROM's WiFi can be enabled via simple build.prop edit.
The Google Apps can be flashed via recovery.
I'm already using it as a daily driver, it's got AWESOME battery life so far, and most things work.
Only panorama mode in camera doesn't work.
