how about Nokia's home market?
In Finland the tech magazine
Tietokone reviewed the Lumia 800
and concluded its an ok smarpthone
but the reviewer suggests either
buying the MeeGo based N9 as a
better Nokia phone now, or if you
want a Windows Phone now, buy one
from HTC or Samsung instead
(double-ouch) or wait until Nokia can
make better Lumia phones in the
future. Finnish daily newspaper Ilta-
Sanomat said in its Lumia 800 review,
that the N9 is the better smartphone
from Nokia. And in Finland, MTV3 the
TV broadcaster ran its review and
came to the same conclusion, that the
N9 is the better smartphone .

Microsoft's smartphone OS has been
around for a decade and it had steady
growth until 2007 when it reached
12% market share of smartphones
and held that till 2008. Microsoft's OS
had briefly taken over the second
place ranking behind Nokia's
Symbian, after Palm's second place
and before Blackberry replaced it as
second biggest OS. Then from 2008,
Windows Mobile fell off a cliff. In 18
months their market share fell by half
to 6% and in another 18 months, fell
by another half. Obviously Microsoft
itself killed Windows Mobile which in
2011 managed only a 1% market
share, so Microsoft now tries to
replace it with Windows Phone which
had amassed a magnificently
unimpressive 1% market share for
itself globally for the first full year it
was sold, when we remove the other
Microsoft Windows Mobile
smartphones, in 2011. The combined
Microsoft smartphone operating
systems market shares, together, for
last year, was under 2%

The same thing can't be said about you and the one my previous post was directed to. Shows how pressed Android/iOS fanboys are.

Ah, I was testing 710 yesterday and it is just plastic phone with average hardware. I was disappointed with camera on this phone, usually nokia was good on that part. Talking about windows being good and stuff, come on android is still much better. I was nokia fan but not anymore and talking that n9 is the best phone?? Maybe it has good design and materials, that is about it.

Had android, had apple, had lumia 800 now i own n9 which is the best compromise of them all though i must say withdows phoen is the fastest and lagfree of them all, aswell packs most of android/apple world. Played with the 710 lumia and feels nothing like cheap, fast and responsive as lumia 800. A great device ! Android not even with quad core is not smooth,my pbrother haves he Htc one and is nothing like super snap,in fact android is the slowest of them all, then come apple but apple is just booring!

Another brilliant strategy by Nokia! None of the Lagdroid OEMs ever thought about this strategy. The Americans loves colorful devices and Nokia is clearly capitalizing on it. The Android OEMs will soon find out that competing with Nokia is a losing battle. Nokia will soon dominate the US!

Good job, Nokia!
