The proper term that should be used is ELF = Early Life Failure. Used to be anything in 14 days = immediately replaced.

This is damaging for HTC. Already losing more customers with a new product.

"after that, they'll fix it under what's covered by the phone's warranty"

lmfao... which is not covered under warranty because the phone is still operational and I doubt any manufacturer would cover a minor quality control issue such as a few scratches.

i have a HTC TP2 from 2009. its still in fab condition despite being used daily. still running WM6.5 too.
runs like a dream.
all that balls about WM OS is rubbish. just get an unlocked, non carrier phone and see the differences.
i will NEVER buy a subsidized phone.....

no doubt to me that htc has a superb built quality, but also we must be wise enough to differ between commercial and daily usage

HTC offering a full replacement.. what did Apple and sammy give you?? Huh? A plastic Bumper. Enjoy that.

Excellent PR HTC!

So say you want one of these because its to put you on till SGS3 arrives,,when you get it home you are going to abuse it a bit to see if yours is one of the affected bunch of phones..It does seem in this mass market world QC is being made less and less.
