in other news, its probably the HTC One S itself... this piece of info was released as a joke or as a mistake... chip MSM8260A is similar enough to MSM8260 for me to imagine there was a typo here - clock speed fits with this - and range of clock speed 1.5 - 1.7 ghz suggest this was the HTC One S before the specs were reduced and finalised... the 'ad' looks a bit rough around the edges to me and is probably something they drew up for passing the time, initially...

HTC should make small device under 4'' like iphone 3.5" screen & with high specification.
Bcoz many of android user dont want big big devices like One X.
I also like If HTC make One X Mini 3.5" & slim like One S with polycorbonate unibody design UNder length 110m.m.

hey gsmarena!! I found a little something after a little search.. either the chip's name is incorrect or the chip speed is incorrect (as you mentioned) .. the Snapdragon S3 family chip MSM8260 is a dual core scorpion clocked at 1.2 to 1.5 ghz ... so could be incorrect chip speed ... BUT the Snapdragon S4 family chip MSM8260A is a dual core krait clocked at 1.5 to 1.7 ghz !! so either that one letter has been missed or the clock speed is incorrectly mentioned... we'll know soon either way but I suggest keeping both avenues open !!! (the new chip has dual channel ram too)

Those specs look weird and kind of messed up. The 1.7 GHz typo is ok, but this AMOLED LCD thing is not. Use more reliable sources please.

Funny, the specifications don't exactly make it look a cheaper version.
What, is it gonna be 1000 bucks cheaper? That's it?

Spec sheet says it will be 1.7 GHz, but GSM arena quote it 1.5 GHz why?

This is becoming pointless now. Why churn out new devices every week yet they are basically the same?

whats the point ??
i thought that HTC had a change of heart and stopped bringing out new models every week ?
just stick with a top, middle and lower range phones for the year then do worthy upgrades to replace them at the end of it !
