I'm neither an Apple or Sammy fanboy. But it is so obvious Samsung are doing the right things with there phones which is what the consumer wants.
They've built on past successes and now have reached the stage where a retailer, and more importantly, a consumer will know what they are getting. Hence retailers can comfortably pre-order 9 million plus, knowing they will be sold. I truly admire Samsung in what they've done though I've never owned one of there devices. I'm waiting to update my current SIM free device and so far, the SGSIII looks the best option available.

So it doesn't really tell you about customer preferences, it just gives you an idea of how many handsets some carriers outside the US think they'll sell. This should be regarded as a conservative calculus made by the companies in the early stages, and the actual sales are more likely to increase than decrease from this number, especially after the price drops it will face after its first quarter on the market.

samsung could feed any crap to fanboys and most of them would shovel it down.

If only 1000 of these supposed 9 million people visit gsm arena on a regular basis you'd think there would be a few more comments than a 100 or so.

I bet samsung has used a bogus figure such as the total number of visitors to their website that registered their interest in the product.

Some envious people... don’t be scared by these numbers and just hope that your preferred Smartphone manufacturer might come up with something better… and those who are saying that it’s not a good looking phone, agreed but people who are saying that there are phones in market that can perform better than this one, just one thing for you people, get your facts right before you put a comment here… refer to various other sites to see what truly this monster can do before you say something out of your jealousness… you don’t hate Samsung, but you love your Smartphone manufacturer too much, and as they say, love is blind… you can see what benchmarks this beast can set nevertheless I can bet you will not say one good thing on this because you’re simply green-eyed… so get your facts right before you set an absolute impractical comment on the S3… this is a monster phone and a real knowledgeable someone won’t disagree to this… you’ll undoubtedly conflict if you have no understanding of Smartphone’s…

Ok, all that marketing hype is bearing some fruit isn't it? And not a red bitten fruit. Samsung just got how to create hype. Unfortunately the product wasn't par to meet the expectations, but it's still one of the best beasts out there and it will reflect in the sales figures. Gross profit is coming for Sammy, either anyone like it or not.

Orders From carriers and retailers doesnt show anything ;) It's not orders from actual peoples who will use this phone. It's just retailers think that people will buy this device.

> In reply to [deleted post]Are you sure you have the I9100 and not the I9100G SGS2? Check it out! settings-->about phone-> model number. The G is a cheaper version, with a weaker CPU-GPU combo, and there were some complaints about it, indeed.
