So basically a Sony Xperia S with larger screen, less internal memory, micro SD, worse camera and LG build quality. Pass.

If LG gave their customers updates OTA to get the latest OS, like many other companies do, they'd really have an edge over the competition. In the meantime, they're only building short term relationships.

does the krait have a spare core for background tasks like the tegra 3 with 4 cores + 1 background core ? Or does it actually use one of its two cores for background tasks ?

I hope LG make updates for their phones, There are phones and tablets with no update practically no update for over years.
Making mass production is not going to solve the problem because you will have more phones and tablets without update!
