AdamBoy64, 24 May 2012Yeah, unfortunately you can't purchase the Dell Venue Pro anymore.
And from my understandin... moreI am sure if you're trolling but your info. are way off.
"It puts all your phone settings, contacts - everything - on the internet."
That's not true at all. Windows Phone is way more secure than malware infested Android.
"unfortunately you can't purchase the Dell Venue Pro anymore"
You can buy Dell Venue Pro straight from Dell and other stores like Best Buy, Fry's Electronic and online stores (Amazon, Overstock, Newegg ect..) iPhones requires Apple ID, Android requires email too, and Windows Phone is the same.
I was planning to Buy Nokia 808, but after this news...
Nokia why have u putted your head in the toilet you have been flushed wp7.put it all down the toilet please i request you to stop making phones
I don't know what I'm thinking, upset or happy, because, if it's true, Symbian is abandoned, 808's price will get down fast, and I have chance to buy it sooner than expected :)) I am adored by its camera and the tech called PureView. To some one who love to use an great camera plus phone, as long as it can take good pictures, and can make good call, who care if there is update for it :))
Anonymous, 23 May 2012:))I think Nokia will bring the precious things behind this quietness for next coming generation. I trust with Nokia.
shoot on ur feet again nokia???
Should be tge upcoming weeks will be ur glorious promotion for 808, n now u ruin it
Microsoft Vader: Elop, I'm your father
Luke Elop: Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!
Microsoft Vader: Turn to the dark side.
Microsoft Vader: (Pointing to Windows Phone) The Force is strong with this one.
problem is people aren't the market anymore, we aren't the customers. Its the Telco's who the phone companies sell to. Perhaps if Nokia realised this they'd pick up sales
you people have just started your business with wp7 and dumping a os which gave you all the fame!!! poor strategy. time for nokia to enter the coffin.
do not believe this
they wouldn't just cancel years of working
they'll just re-announce it in another name and
little change in Gui and the
stupid user will think it is an all new thing
1- they tried to change the Gui
2- they tried to change the name Symbian to Nokia
3- they didn't cancel Symbian (Name) in front of the people
so they will now and thats it
AnonD-8044, 24 May 2012Yes have tried 2 windows 7.5 smartfones and both were fresh and snappy..however its still unfi... moreI do not like the idea of unable to set wallpaper and have to stick with zune for lot of things......
I still prefer Belle interface.
I found grammer mistake in this article!
"We have to wait for an official announcement, though it does makes sense –".... Does makes??
Hmm its okay, to err is human.
Being a typical Nokia fan, its shocking for me!
Ridiculous!
If Symbian is dead, Nokia will only have S40 (or other series and meltemi) for feature-phone (which is at the same price as low-end android phones) and Windows Phone for their mid to high-end device.
and I think they can't rely on Windows Phone only. As Windows Phone is still a baby, compared to iOS, Android, or even Bada.
Symbian was never going to stick around long-term, but I have to admit I was kinda hoping they'd provide another major update as part of their "support 'til 2016" commitment.
So long as there are bug fixes and patches, I don't see any reason to get upset. The system is fast, stable and feature-rich. It's just time to close that chapter of the book and move in a more profitable direction.
Anonymous, 24 May 2012Dell Venue Pro has keyboard. I don't know what you're talking about. Nobody is forcing you to ... moreYeah, unfortunately you can't purchase the Dell Venue Pro anymore.
And from my understanding, a Live account is required to use the phone. It puts all your phone settings, contacts - everything - on the internet.
That's.. not for me.
Happy I left nokia 6 months ago :))
That is very bad, awful and unacceptable announcement.
I hope and i wish symbian operation to live for ever and ever.
Its the best mobile operation system until now.
Anonymous, 24 May 2012Time to move to Windows Phone 7.5, people. Windows Phone is superior to anything right now in ... moreYes have tried 2 windows 7.5 smartfones and both were fresh and snappy..however its still unfinished and need more work,,just one example i sold mine due to NO equalisers..But yes W7 is brand new and nice experiance just not for me yet.
But Elop said support until 2016! I guess they needed more people to work on the Lumia 610 so it can run skype as well as my n95...
AnonD-4254, 23 May 2012I always felt that if Nokia made 50-60 important apps according to users' requests and votes, ... moreYes I agree.
Btw, I use Nokia 701 Belle PR1 and the device is mature regarding everything, snappy, stable and almost perfect, just missing webdav client for nas server.
