Sony has made a traitor move, what's next?
This may be an omission by someone not knowing how to cut and paste, or it may be an attempt to sweep the Play's ICS under the rug. Honestly, I couldn't care less about an ICS update, but rather, I want a friggin' update to the Playstation part of the phone: I'm with AT&T in the USA and my phone's running GB 2.3.3. Sure, I could flash my phone to a different region, but why should a paying customer have to make any risk of bricking/screwing up their phone because updates to 2.3.4 haven't been localized, but otherwise seem to have a worldwide release?
I only wanted ICS because I figured Sony would finally support the PS Certification like it has in Japan and Europe. Looks like that's now unlikely. I just wish Sony would grow a pair and tell us wtf is going on. It's frustrating to wait this long for a feature that makes this phone worth having, only to again be slapped the face with no official word on anything for months at a time.
I love you Sony, but you just don't treat us right.
sony released the ICS beta for playy
now this is a new drama
AnonD-54249, 25 May 2012xperia s is not on the list??????? wtf????If you click the "Source" link, you'll see it refers to the 2011 line. The XS is from 2012.
God that picture(Xperia Play with Okay trollface on it)......ROFL....it just made my day
Oh my god! Bad news for PLAY.
If Sony betray me by cancel ICS for my Mini Pro too. My next phone would likely be HTC instead.
Oh Sony please let us have some ice cream!
xperia s is not on the list??????? wtf????
AnonD-55206, 25 May 2012Gsmarena! Maybe You are wrong, Because My friend is holding Xperia Play and It's running ICS. ... moreI don't think so. Custom ROM, maybe.
Anonymous, 25 May 2012Not surprised. After using this crappy, slow phone that lags all the time, I have nothing else... moreKeep in mind that the SII got a buggy ICS with missing ICS features when updated. No gurantee they will do better for S3, 'cause they will want to sell S4. Why not try a Nexus device instead?
Summer will go by quickly, and then we'll get Jelly bean and 5 Nexuses to choose from.
Anonymous, 25 May 2012Don't worry.. XDA's there.Yep Android's Saviors. When some device gets screwed with updates, don't fear, XDA is here
ics is all buggy its pretty and smooth but no compatibility with alot of games... anyway there should be at least some stantard on android phones that dont make it sssssooooooooooooooo hard to update like this... and if you want an android phone just go grag a galaxy s2 s3 or something from HTC if not this youre a douche....
AnonD-55206, 25 May 2012Gsmarena! Maybe You are wrong, Because My friend is holding Xperia Play and It's running ICS. ... morewell! they refer to official rom bro :D
BTW i'm cambodia too
AnonD-56225, 25 May 2012Excuse me ! Would u mind telling me the reasons why Sony removes xperia play from ICS update l... moreXperia play isn't getting ICS because of it being a PlayStation device. When sony released beta version of ICS for 2011 xperia devices, it asked developers to check its compatibility & performance with ICS, it was found that phone was not supporting many PlayStation games & there is no use of its PS Certification if itsn't playing PS games. Thats y even LWW is getting ICS & not the PLAY. Got dat?
AnonD-55206, 25 May 2012Gsmarena! Maybe You are wrong, Because My friend is holding Xperia Play and It's running ICS. ... moreThats the beta sony released in March and not the final version of ICS
Anonymous, 25 May 2012Hey future S3 owner. Are you looking forward to a crappy, buggy, slow and feature-cut Jelly be... moreLike s2 owners? Have you ever used an s2 with ics?
Not surprised. After using this crappy, slow phone that lags all the time, I have nothing else to do with this phone anymore. Can't even sell it for a good price now that everybody knows how crappy this phone is. Will wait for Galaxy SIII. Until then, i'll stick with my old motorola2 v9.
Xperia play made for gaming.. maybe vita os are the best suite with xperia play.. dont be so sad cause gingerbread not that old school os... no point upgrading to ics if its slowing the devices and hard to play a games. Sony not that idiot to suddenly remove xperia play for getting ics. Its must be a good reason. If sony provide ics inside xperia play and its slow down the device you will back blame sony for that also just like now blame sony for not provide ics for xperia play.
dreams come true??? No no no, its a nightmare come true, all the sony ericsson xperia can be updated 2 ics but but but...... SE XPERIA would become slower n used more ram, what a awful story sony, DENIED YOUR OWN PROMISES!
I like sony but this is a betrayal for the fans, have 2 wait n see what shall happen this cancceled update 4 xplay.
Please sony keep your promises
AnonD-55206, 25 May 2012Gsmarena! Maybe You are wrong, Because My friend is holding Xperia Play and It's running ICS. ... moreWas it an Official Sony Version or CM9 because even Galaxy Ace can run CM9.
Anonymous, 25 May 2012Hey future S3 owner. Are you looking forward to a crappy, buggy, slow and feature-cut Jelly be... moreyea im using s2 now . . and dont have any intention to buy s3 . . and my s2 is running ICS right now ! and i couldnt be happier :) ,yea buggy update . . . just go custom ROM *duh once you go custom there is no chance you want to go back to stock ROM :P , if you want the device that "just run" go buy that fruit phone, it will run smooth and bugles on update but fr me i just cant stand the limitiation -,-
