ya i think he is quite right...if you want to go for budget smartphone go for samsung, lg and other cheap phones....htc build qualities is premium and top-notch
u r ryt same here in pakistan, HTC explorer is a hot cake and the company should release more phones likes this...
HTC really need to sort out the audio output volume on the 1x. It's erm, 'Quietly Quiet' Shame, as i'd like one, but my 4s blows it out of water volume wise.
htc??? No thanks. We have got SAMSUNG Galaxy series, LG Optimus Line and THE NEWEST GUY, Tecno T1 in Nigeria.
Guest54839, 14 Jun 2012HTC is a business company, not a charitable organization.exactly, they are setting up a bad business model. That's all what I gonna say.

By the way, the only Samsung phone with (real) good sound and camera is the Wave 3. Sure, HTC's sound and camera are not the best (cannot compete with Sony here) but please, let's not bring Apple and Samsung into this topic too. Plus, i don't think one can match Sense UI with other OEM UI out there. As far as i can go back with HTC, they have the only Android smartphones which are usable with stock ROMs. Get your facts together.
Yes I have owned two. Take note: TWO.
The Sense UI is nice but nothing from another world. In productivity terms and efficiency, is no different that Samsung's, Apple's, Sony, Huawei and whatever the heck you want to add to the list.
So other phones do not have "usable" roms? Uhm, okay. I guess everybody else must be having a very hard time with non HTC phones.
I wonder why not everybody buys HTC, if the roms are so "usable", like you state.
In my opinion, HTC used to sell just for the looks. Sure the UI is eye candy, but a hell of a battery drainer too.
What premium image? I certainly didn't feel that with my purchase of the One V having all three units with defects (lights leaks). There's nothing premium about that in my book.
They should talk premium when they start copying Apple (glass and metal). At the very least, that would be understandable IMO.
well i think d explorer is lower spec'd than d desire c
htc does nt know wat low end handset means-galaxy y retails for less than half d price of desire c, galaxy pocket even less
agreed that they r even lower spec'd than d desire c but this is wat this company shud know-they need to hav a phone in each bracket
explorer is selling like hot cakes in india n they need to build around that good work;n fast-that is b4 galaxy mini 2 launches wid a price slightly more than explorer n quite less than desire c
p.s.-only reason i hav mentioned just galaxies is bcoz they r d cheapest of d lot
m not a samsung fanboy-i love everything with android in it :D
so yours is a limited business for only a category of people which can never grow and always limited to some extent.
cmon HTC,,,, u r launching low end devices and still have the courage to say that u r not,,, wat about desireC....... take an example of ONE V its specs are lower than SE NEO V and even though u r asking for premium price.... i know htc build quality is un matchable but even the specs r also not that gud at the price range which they r launching
HTC... I support HTC in this strategy. Cut down on inventory. Production line with just one model . Focus on the best on one model. Update with firmware will be easier and faster. This will result in cheaper , better high end product. This will HTC to good brand image and improve overall product. It will be likely the same strategy as apple though... Finally , quietly brilliant... :p

Does this mean that HTC Desire C will not released in India
No wonder HTC are struggling if they are so self-obsessed with their own "premium" image. Due to this policy they will only be known in a certain number of countries - which will hardly help them.
Perhaps they are waking up and smelling the coffee now. I think they may have learned their lesson this time as they may finally have realized that every time their item turns out to be a step below or behind that of Samsung they end up losing sales and market share. This did not require Einstein to figure out. Hopefully those knuckleheads over at HTC will learn their lesson from their mistakes. Battery must be user replaceable,Memory must be expandable,Screen resolution must be good,Wifi reception/distance must be improved and last but not least the speaker quality from the rear speaker and from the front earphone must be higher in volume (louder).
Premium products must offer premium options.
Anonymous, 14 Jun 2012tell apple about that also, see if apple is willing to make low end phones, hahaha...they already did.....
iphone4s....
oh snap. u gown get served darn it
HTC, gets a grip. Your high end phones are cheaper than Samsung and Sony, eve Moto. That's why we are buying you, not because built quality bulls**t. Now you are making phones out of plastic what is your excuse?
Anonymous, 14 Jun 2012tell apple about that also, see if apple is willing to make low end phones, hahaha...They already do, it's called the iPhone.
Not sure how good this decision would turn out to be for HTC.
Nokia was quite successful in some of the Asian markets because of its availability in all segments.
If HTC has decided to go only with top end phones, then they will have to ensure their products are real top end and a very tough competition for the likes of Samsung and Apple.
Right now, they lag quite behind in battery power, processing speed of graphics and web-pages and to an extent their display. If they can bridge out these gaps along with further strengthening their strong forte like User Interface, build quality etc, they can grow up..
I couldn't agree more. If only more manufacturers pursued this approach the market would not be flooded with garbage.
