well so far most of the users who upgrades their phones to ICS have huge regrets, as per the news section jellybean is coming soon and the latest Android 5 (Whatever the name is) is due in October (Not sure) im not sure the last year SE models are upgradeable for any further version but i doubt it,,, lets hope Xperia S turn out to be something good after the ICS

It seems the most easy way is to flash the ICS ROM directly, aparently there is only one ROM of ICS on the net and its from Switzerland, but since there is only one model for the XPS (LT26i) there doesnt seems to be any problem with frequencies or whatsoever, you have to flash it with flashtool, just be sure to use the last version or it will not work and your phone wont turn on (it happened to me) until you use the last version of flashtool to flash.

I had to flash my xperia s to get the ICS update, there is not to many changes apart from the stock ICS diferences and GB, the best change is probably the galery, incredibly smooth and the swipe to zoom in the thumbnails looks great, the media player have some minor changes too, like visualization mode, the video player has some changes in looks, the keyboard is very customizable, and the battery seems to have better perfomance, this seems to be a thing from ICS better use of the battery because my xperia pro also has a better battery performance after the upgrade, so far i have notice two bugs, the first is that my wifi tethering dont seems to work properly, and the leds also seems not to be working, the leds thing seems to be a bug from all xperia models when upgraded to ICS.

seriously, i don't see anything exciting with this upgrade, what about battery or camera performance, i am already using xperia neo with ICS. It's just identical. Now I am really considering not to buy XS anymore.

I know some of us are still stuck with 2.3.7
BUT
I really prefer Sony with their "real" models then Samsung who make 3-4-5 versions of the same phone and won't tell.
