I have GS2 ...and have updated it to ICS 4.03. One of my friend has Samsung Omnia W and other has a HTC OneX. After extensive use of all the 3 phones i can say Windows OS much more optimized. Android had better features but is not optimized. Google should optimized the OS, so that it can use the dual or quad cores properly. I do believe that MS has a good OS and it can go a long way if they can get more apps for it and provide a tight integration with Windows8.

WP7.8 is nothing but an obsolete OS. Just to show an update for customers that the Lumia could not update to Wp8. I am still nervious as microsoft launch their own tablet hardware called surface. Why microsoft do not launch their own hardware phone?? Hope Nokia launch their own OS like symbian instead of moving to microsoft which is the worst movement ever.

File drag-and-drop and custom ringtones have been around forever, so why would MS want to restrict them.

Another must-have feature for me is the event notifier (for missed calls etc.)

Put these in and I'll buy a phone even if it's on WP7.5

Unfortunately the only things that seem to matter for most other people are dual-core and ram size.

As an Android user for the past 4(?) years I have to say I'm impressed with the leap between Win 7 and 8... but for me it's the little things (no own mp3 for ringtone, no drag/drop files, no individual volume for alarm / media / ring, no file manager, etc.) all of these things might seem 'little' - but keeping adding them add and you realise that Winmo is just a little less restrictive than iOS, only a little... it's got a swanky front-end, but behind the scenes, it's just a little too controlling for my liking... the fact that you have to have the same alert noise and ringtones than EVERYONE ELSE for me, is a killer, where's the individuality? where's the personality?

It may not be better/on par with other OS yet, but it's supported. So basically getting or not getting WP8 is irrelevant if you count on those functionality.

It's not anyone else's fault if you've been living under a rock thinking phones are 'for calls and texting'.
