Nokia has a backup plan if Windows Phone 8 fails - read the full textNokia has been frantically rejecting the possibility of putting Android on its smartphones, but this might change if Windows Phone 8 fails to gain traction. In an interview aired on a Finnish TV, Risto Siilasmaa, a member of the Nokia board of directors, said that Android is the company's...

A phone, with a quad core, 1 gb ram, android ics, ovi maps, Nokia designed, nokia pureview technology, dimensions similar to s3 with a big resolution, good price(It's kind of impossible since other are around) . This can make the company go from their current status being broke to the top sellings... but then of course they're busy making windows phones !

(may be due to it's low resolution it is not perfect for tablets). But except it, this OS is the pioneer. Android need extra 50 apps to match Symbian out of box. If u don't like Symbian, then leave it. But this is the OS, which teaches other OS how to make a phone "smart".

> In reply to loveking @ 2012-07-06 18:27 from t}X8 - click to readThe discussion was not about the capabilities of os, but hardware alone. but since you have made a point on the os, let me ask why could not Nokia produce a tablet for symbian?

the very definition of hardware are the internal parts used in building up the phone. don't know why Nokia supporters are not aware if the basics.

> In reply to blueglue @ 2012-07-06 13:41 from 9LYb - click to readOh,u speak about technical hardware like display, ram, processor, camera, speaker r the details that nokia while using and using hardware:
processor-nokia still not using dual or quad core processor, because there is no need to use they using symbian,wp,meego os all are not support dual or quad core processor, but all these os run much faster and smoother than dual&quad core android.they will use dual or quad core processor for its upcoming wp8 powered phones and may be android powered phones.
Ram-nokia using 512 mb ram for symbian phones like 808 and 1gb for e5 is the only mobile in the world that runs over 76 active applications(true multitasking) without any lag, apple stop only 72 apps referred from digit.
Screen-in this point i accept ur point, still nokia not using very large displays like s3,note,note2,because symbian, windows does not support large hd screens like android, but they will use in future wp8 and android phones.
Camera-41 mp pureview technology, for more info see BLIND TEST from gsmarena.i think u understood.
Sound-they have rich audio recording tech upto 182 db,digital dolby sound systems.
I want to ask some more questions samsung have quad core processor on s3 but why they still using only 8mp and very laggy and smoothless, but 808 have 41mp,very fast and smooth in just single core?
s3 have 2gb(korean version) ram but not beat e5,why?

> In reply to James Hunt @ 2012-07-06 06:47 from 7tLI - click to readNot entirely true.

NOkia never had great screens in the recent past, Until they used the AMOLEDs. Please dont get the Shell or the case of the Phone when we are dicussing the technical h/w aspects. I am sure you are aware that Apple and HTC are good and better in terms of Build quality and Materials. that said, i totally agree that Nokia phones are build to last long.

N95 had 332 MHz Dual ARM 11 - not 680 as you claimed. correct your statment.
btw, its ARM11 - one of the old and Obsolete architechture. and DUAL CPU is not DUAL CORE. they are entirely different.

btw, you have give me the reference of N95 the age old to vouch for the good h/w of Nokia. nothing to say after N95, is it?

No offense, but exhibiting your frustration over me will not help you in any ways. Instead please do some research that'll save you from embarassment next time OR learn from others.

Once again, get to the right point of discussion.
Let me help you, What will be your answer for the question - Whats the hardware of your PC?
will it be, Monitor has great plastic and CPU is inside aluminium box. OR do you have a different answer.

> In reply to zm @ 2012-07-06 11:30 from ij47 - click to readLets take it in this way,- nokia is bleeding just to give the customers one more choice. It would ensure that there is no monopoly or duopoly. I think for a long run wp8 or its future iteration are better for nokia. Nokia is far from dead . They have enough cash to survive many more quarters like the last one. So lets hope wp8 dèvices come soon.

> In reply to blueglue @ 2012-07-05 19:57 from wd83 - click to readOk so lets see after quad core whats nxt ? Hexa core, or +n nos. Of cores. After 720p ? 1080p . Thats evolution not revolution. In a nokia phone , one generally expects a tough, long lasting shell, gud screen ,longer real life battery backup (nt like carefully conducted tests), excellent camera optics etc. These are hardwares. You see basically symbian os since 2007 has not changed much (interms of resourse hungriness). Back then N95 had dual ARM 680mhz cpu and graphic chip ! Since then nthing has changed. There is no big deal in putting quad core proccy, but ur OS should support it. Which the wp8 will have !
