RIM still has a massive market share in countries like Indonesia, India, South Africa, and no doubt other. I use a BB9900 and a Samsung Note, but for security in business etc it is a BB or nothing. Frankly I dont have the time to spend all day playing with a mobile so it has to work for its intended purpose. Not interested in playing games. For me every day use the BB is just fine. So where did RIM go wrong. I think their quality dropped a bit after the 9700 (world class construction) and they made a mistake thinking slim is good (took the advice of too many so called market experts)for batteries. In any case I am very happy with my choices and will continue to buy what I need, and that is a BB.

WP :(

MS had better give Nokia a big hand, as Nok took all the risk with the WP7 experiment and ended up getting shafted by their "partner" MS! Necessary, maybe, but it can't feel good.

WP8 with Win8 and Surface... fingers crossed! There's room in the market for a third player.

> In reply to Yani @ 2012-07-15 11:01 from 3pwj - click to readI am sure Windows Phone 8 will slow down Android. It has fast OTA software updates for all phones that Android can't even do in a million of year. WP8 requires a built-in hardware security chip with BitLocker encryption and Secure Boot for businesses. The perfomance on Windows Phone 8 with NT kernel will blow away Android. Windows Phone 7.5 running on Windows CE kernel is already crazy fast and no lag. Windows Phone 8 with Windows NT kernel is even fast than Windows CE kernel on WP7.5. WP8 already supports processor up to 64 cores for future proof. Next year you might see a next-generation Xbox with Windows NT kernel for porting games/apps between desktop, laptop, tablet, console and phones easily. Microsoft will have an ecosystem that is hard to beat.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-07-15 08:24 from 0Cb2 - click to readWhat is google doing then ? Isnt it doing same as samsung ? So plz stop nonsense.

Samsung makes even qualcomm chips too , because they are suppliers , but competitors doesnt mean they have to be rude , even google's eric and jobs have maintained good relation after android came out , apple continued using google services like maps.

These patent cases and other things wont even come near CEO's sight unless they cause bans , most of these are managed by marketing staff , they just take updates to CEO about happenings of these cases , while financial wing ensures company is healthy , and industry is running with profits , what will they do with their manufacturing plants without selling components to competitors ? It kills competition and Also shut down the plants because there is no production or other way is to produce only their own phones which causes left overs and over production , either way , thats a dumb decision.they doing their job , similarly google is a service provider , they dont care about what device their services run , but they have ad business as well , so they try to push their services to all platforms possible.

Apple calls windows inferior and bla bla , but still they make itunes and quicktime for inferior windows , how come ? Why are they supporting windows then if its bad ? Every company says bla bla things about competitors but finally every company wants to reach as many consumers as possible , and if u see zune is not supported on mac , haha , while microsoft makes apps for iOS like skydrive and apps like office on mac so microsoft , apple , samsung and google are whores ? Wow , what a immature comment........

Apple makes Great products! They are Luxurious and well made. They're high end and usually revolutionary. The problem is that they're also VERY Expensive! Apple is a bit like BMW or Mercedes. Not quite as fast as the latest and greatest Nissan GTR. But 1000 times better on everything else!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2012-07-14 21:30 from tR6E - click to read1-in ear: sony mdr ex510,but ex310 are very close, both models far better than any in-ear beats by dr.dre:ibeats/urbeats
2-overhead: sony mdr xb500,xb700. xb 700 is better than Beats Studio in any aspect, except noise cancel function.

And the best headphones for the street on ipod/iphone are Jvc-ha 600 with carbon diaphragm. This model is identical with Bose ae2,oe2 wich are 5x more expansive and better than Beats Solo.

And the absolute kings of headphones are Sony mdr-xb1000 and mdr-ma 900 both with 70 mm drivers, but for indoor use, especially xb 1000 wich are huge. Both models are around 250 euros, but i wait to drop the price

Nokia should sell handsets that allowed users to install the OS of their choice. That would be a game-changer.
Android still has to work on integrating Google play with Picasa and Google docs, gmail, google + etc. It should all be the same platform and there should be more quality control in terms of apps. In that respect iOS is still superior. Other than that Android is great for flexibility and sure has a lot of content.
