Android 4.1.1 update for the Nexus S starts rolling out - read the full textAfter some false hopes stirred by Vodafone Australia yesterday, it seems the international Nexus S is now finally getting its Android 4.1 Jelly Bean fix. Posted on code.google.com as Ticket 35523.
Anyone has similar experience?
Google Nexus S, am in Canada.

Ticket:
I am using Nexus S and just got my 4.1.1.

Major issues
- perceptibly faster battery drain even though phone has been on standby most of the time
- Lookout and BBC news crash 100% of the time
- most importantly update completely erased my custom library of ringtones as its association with my contacts (thank you very much Google).

I am also unable to recreate custom ringtones - have manually created media/audio/ringtones and populated it and yet the phone does not seem to recognize it nor offer specific ringtone to me.

note that since I use the phone for both work and personal use it is crucial for me to have ability to assign ringtones to contacts.

I could live with 4.1.1. update wiping out the content even though it should not be that difficult for Google to migrate the complete user settings and associated MP3 files. I CANNOT tolerate the fact I am unable to recreate it myself.

Looking forward to hearing from someone soon, or else I go back to previous android version.

Thanks in advance

Thomas

i've got it 2 days ago I9023 Vodafone RO... really smooth, great transit effects, same battery life! bugs: load speaker it activates on it's own sometimes, car home activates on it's own sometimes, charging only works via usb, sometimes it won't start only if you remove the battery pack, sometimes auto rotate can't be deactivated, sometimes the touch screen is not responsive and it feels like is not calibrated... it bothered me a lot after update so i reseated it! wiped it clean! and disabled car home app... now i have little or no problems!

My only problem is that Viber won' t work on 4.1.1. Any other mentioned problems like battery drain or wifi stability seems to be fine with me. Hope that Viber will fix their problem soon.

Got mine JB couple hours ago, all good, it's a bit faster, nicer transitions, batery life no change, wi-fi works, bluetooth too, contacts faster, change contact pictures to have it with more pixels, ICS sucks at it, but I am going to switch it back to GO Launcher EX becouse of more widgets and options, but it's slower then :(. Oh yeah, over OTA 114MB, Bosnia & Herzegowina, I9020T...Cheerz

Hi just had 4.4.1 up date on nexus-s, uk sim free, now no flash player or BBC I player,
web browser is not loading book marked pages,it was better on Gingerbread 2.3.6,
it is of little use other than phone text, WiFi is not stable switches off at will and weak reception, my HTC Desire running 2.2 Fro yo is of more use with flash player and BBC I player, and WiFi is very good, still a great phone even if its old,
will now have to flash nexus back to Gingerbread if possible,
