Dun, 02 Aug 2012Yes the 2% of the smartphone buyers that consider Winphones as "intelligent designs"... more2% consider Windows intelligent because ONLY 2% actually go out and try it rather than just going by what they hear. If you watch videos of how the tablet is setup to function and how windows 8 is used, its by FAR the most advanced mobile operating system out there.
in a few years, there will be so many operating systems and so many OEM's that no one particular OS will stand to dominate. you can see that just with this mozilla OS. it looks like android to the avg person...
definately not, 02 Aug 2012sorry to burst you're bubble, but you couldn't be MORE wrong. Look at maemo, meego, microsoft,... moreYes the 2% of the smartphone buyers that consider Winphones as "intelligent designs" Will hate the FireFox OS. But for the rest us (Not sure if IOS users can be counted), we want to try it out.
If it works, It will stay.
Hope that there are softwares available for a smooth and problem free swapping of OS:es on Androids phones.
s, 02 Aug 2012As a matter of fact it looks literally 95% like MIUI. Google it.I was just about to say the same thing... that's no bad thing... but still... something original would have been nice...
This is exactly a MIUI Rom. Just launch it instead Firefox, instead of building a new market, new apps..bla bla ! LOL
AnonD-63316, 02 Aug 2012Man, i'm in the smartphone business for 10 years, i could say that everything you see today &q... moresorry to burst you're bubble, but you couldn't be MORE wrong. Look at maemo, meego, microsoft, tizen, bada, symbian... they all have icons and quick launch/short cuts, but none of them look the same. This is so identical to android and iOS that people wont be able to tell that you're using something different.
This is called lack of creativity and fear of failing in this market.. so mozilla just took the "safe" way out by combing what already exists rather than innovating and designing soemthing new.
Look at Windows Phone 8, they have completely put a new twist on how apps are presented, how your multitasking is done, how apps open, how things are arranged in home screen, how things are updated. Thats wat you call intelligence, not this garbage.
iPhonedroid :)
Its a mixture of Symbian, Android and a bit of iOS. Oh dear :L
AnonD-63316, 02 Aug 2012Man, i'm in the smartphone business for 10 years, i could say that everything you see today &q... moreWindows Phone does't.
s, 02 Aug 2012As a matter of fact it looks literally 95% like MIUI. Google it.Exactly my thoughts. Also very similar to the award wining theme "Crimp"
Most will opt for well established OS unless there is something innovative & different in the new one...
Zen0, 02 Aug 2012They can't even release a decent mobile browser, how can they think to put out and support an ... moreEven microsoft has not produced very good browser nonetheless they are at the top of the game in terms of desktop os and it has attracted many with win 8 for mobile.. So stop trolling and just wait and watch what mozilla is going to offer with this os and how it differs this os compared to others... No need to do blah blah blah at this early stage.. Let it get released first then make any comment and stop saying they have copied this and that and boom boom boom.. Every company copies something or many thing so not a big deal...
This OS should be called idroid...lol.,
As a matter of fact it looks literally 95% like MIUI. Google it.
ANti-Iphone, 02 Aug 2012The only thing apple is gonna do coz its losing its market share is sue people, cheapest move ... moreyou know, you just made the best point ive heard yet.
Most of you dont get it, this is a OS that is full html, this means you can make apps in html+javascript from the start, without needing anything complicated or some 3rd party api.
This means that any of the billion apps on websites can be ported over very easily to this. It could be a very interesting platform going forward.
Hmm, 02 Aug 2012Looks like an OS for $5 smartphones. Not nice.Actually it would be very nice. The cheaper the products, the better the competition, and better access to smartphone for people that don't afford an expensive Android or iPhone. Or, like Samsung/iPhone fanboys would say: you don't afford the top dog, you don't deserve to live!
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2012It looks like something someone by copy and pasting UI elements from other OS onto MS Paint. N... moreMan, i'm in the smartphone business for 10 years, i could say that everything you see today "looks" like a copy-paste from previous generations. Android and iOS included. So chill out, this is normal. That's why all our cars have 4 wheels, it's optimal. They don't build cars with 9 wheels, and still we don't cry that they are copying.
Looks interesting...
Senthil, 02 Aug 2012Looks exactly like iOS and Android. Even Go Launcher can produce a similar theme like this. ... moreHave you even read the article? This os uses a linux kernel (similar to Android) and it's all build on HTML5. That is something that nobody did before, so yeah, it's a new technology. If it is better than other, we don't know yet, but it is surely something to look after. Imagine that the whole OS (almost) is build with HTML markup.
AnonD-2663, 02 Aug 2012What makes these clowns think that anyone will use this?? It'll be about as successful as othe... moreYou won't use it, maybe I won't use it neither, but that doesn't mean that nobody will use it. It makes perfect sense if you try and think bigger than yourself.
