This module is made by Samsung Techwin, the only one DSC company in Korea. in 2006 B600 with 10mp used CCD. but this use CMOS and nice optical spec, f2.6.
Nikkei Newspaper gave a write up to this module in 18th March.

That looks like it would be the most infuriating phone to use!
8mp, pretty cool, but what about it's primary function, as with all phones, to make phone calls??
Looks like it would fall down my throat if i tried to speak in it haha.
And are those the memory cards sticking out of the side? Annoying much!

to white: the b600 isnt even thin thought so its not much of a breakthrough unlike this one which tends to be relatively small and slim

k850i got alot of different with this 8mp!just see the picture that capture from k850i,all the colour stating "light",not nature at all.u wan to compare goes compare i-mobile 905 from ThailandXD this phone using the same 5.0cmos camera as k850i using:D samsung phone using is a camera that samsung own created,not like k850i,just put a clone phone cmos camera into the phone and mix some programme

i think phone makers should concentrate on better optics. yes 5 or 8 meg camera phones will be brill, but in reality the image only equivalent to 3 meg digital camera. so its time to get an optical zoom, nice try with Samsung G800. and sharp done the 903. but to have technology you need the size swings and roundabouts really. well done samsung for trying.

I think it's not good to criticize this innovation before you see the photos maded by it! Maybe it will provide good quality of picture?! I belive that in near future reduction of the camera sizes will not effect on a quality of pictures!
