The Black Galaxy S3 has been set up on the system longer than the original white and blue S3. I think CPW were just putting a test code in there when it was originally announced.

> In reply to TC @ 2012-08-13 09:10 from J5P0 - click to readYes Polycarb is a higher class material, or to be exact a high class plastic, and is very good for what it is.
The phone should instead be made from Kevlar or Carbon Fibre - as per your example - these are clearly better class materials.

However hardened magnesium alloys are not any thin metal - they are lighter than aluminum and many times stronger then the hardest steel. Much of the chasis of those top sports cars you mention are made of similar metal alloys. For a premium feel in-hand metal beats plastic, whether polycarb or otherwise.

Could anybody tell me why isn't black the primary color? I mean white and blue... come on... I am sure that statistic will show that most of consumers will buy black and that all the others...

The black version looks good but I still find that there is an issue with the battery. It dies off too fast and have to charge it up again. It lasts for 1 day.

Polycarbonate is "higher quality" and more advanced than any simple thin metal! The top, most expensive, cars use carbon fiber, not metal!

> In reply to droider @ 2012-08-13 04:51 from PAXp - click to readI agree with most of what you are saying, especially about the amount of blind belief fans have in Apple - though to Apples credit their products consistently provide a good user experience and they are reasonably quick to fix software faults (though rarely admit to them)

However 'eye candy' is important. Unfortunately we rarely get a quality style, build and materials in an android phone. And before all the ranting starts about the benefit of plastic/polycarbonate lightness, they can make metal just as light and tough(magnesium alloys for instance) part of the package that Android users rarely get.

I'd like my S3 to have been better styled and higher quality materials (note I said 'higher'quality) - placed. Given the choice of an S3 in polycarb or same in a hardened magnesium aluminum alloy of same thickness and weight (and styled better), would you really choose the plastic one?

When paying top dollar to buy a car with leading sports performance and features, you want it to look the part as well.

> In reply to phil the phone man @ 2012-08-12 15:23 from mJrt - click to readYes android is laggy sometimes but iphone is also not perfect yet. iphone 4 had a signal issue. ipad 3 had a over heating issue. iOS 5 had a battery issue. Since manufacturing cost for iphone is nothing more than android. Apple fan are only ready to pay by seeing the glass and metal over the body, this means how eye candy are ifans. They just have a blind belief to Apple. People just go with the name rather than utilizing their brain. CRAPPLE.
