Any one got this new update in UK for xperia Ray? Which build is it now?

I think I'm gonna wait for the next update from Sony and stick with the GB. I'm facing heating problems now but I trust Sony for the better update to fix this issue
Craz, 25 Aug 2012Is the new ICS better than GB, Then how's ur experience with new ICS , You've said it is stabl... moreWell after I removed all the apps I really didn't use and all the bloatware from my mobile operator it become quite stable.
Before that it was hell.
So, if you are a responsible user you should go ahead. If you are one of the people who seem to collect apps which they never do use and cram up the phone... you shouldn't. At least till the new update is available.
One of the problems I had was with the image gallery but after checking SD card for errors it become ok.
With is ICS I got a major problem fixed: Wi-fi connection. It worked great at my house, at work and on the streets but for some reason it kept loosing connection to my brother's router. Now it is ok.
There is some (a lot) of lag for the dialler and for and for the contacts app.
I removed PicoTTS, Wisepilot and some other stuff the operator put in and then I was just fine. Of course with the new update things will be much better.
Indian Users will get the update after August 27th. jus confirmed with Sony Xperia. So I can upgrade my NEO V after 27th :D
The ICS UPDATE is said to be available via OTA. But it shows up on pc companion. As the update progress. it stops around 90% and then stucked. running on android 4.0.4.

Is there any other issues u've noticed so far, I'm still in GB just wondering whether to go to ICS or not. What do u recommend? whether to stay in GB and wait for another better ICS update or go to ICS now.
Thnks in advance
Craz, 24 Aug 2012You were quite right there, but you didn't get my point, what I don't like about Sony is why d... moreWhat would be the point in getting GB 2.3.7? even if that meant you would receive ICS a little bit latter but a little bit better?
Isn't it better to skip some minor updates and get ICS (even if a bit buggy) and then have this update that makes ICS ok and not spend any time with 2.3.7?
Remember they could had done 2.3.7 and still when they latter did the 4.0.4 it could turn out buggy anyway and then precious time and money would be wasted.
I like that they skipped minor updates, including ICS 4.0 and 4.0.3 which were buggy no matter what company and went straight to 4.0.4 which was better than the previous build.
I prefer to be updated fewer times but good or when they don't change the android number but actually solve problems than have an up to date OS which in fact carries nothing significantly new or relevant.
I do get your point but think they did will in skipping some android no.
Maybe indian neo v is not gonna get this update....
our Si no- 1254-8966 is under the column...
NOTE: This list will no longer be updated.
ArcAzoresPT, 24 Aug 2012I have to say to you that my Arc is pretty stable on ICS. There is a bit of lag for the diall... moreYou were quite right there, but you didn't get my point, what I don't like about Sony is why didn't they give us the GB update 2.3.7 like that of Xperia P/S instead rather than the ICS update which is not bug free or Performance not up to the mark. To be honest i didn't updated my phone to ICS bcoz of the bad reviews of not only this one but also in other phones like Xperia P/S and so i stayed in GB. If they gave us GB update and waited for some time for the better ICS like u mentioned then we wouldn't have many issues that we have now, would we? For their reputation of one nd only company to give ICS to 2011 smartphones they are releasing versions which are not satisfying the customers.
The new update didn't fix the LED notification message for text messages on live with walkman!
Craz, 24 Aug 2012I don't know why so many people are bragging about Sony releasing ICS update, What's the point... moreI have to say to you that my Arc is pretty stable on ICS.
There is a bit of lag for the dialler and contacts but it is stable.
Deleted some of the bloatware and as apps received some updates it become stable. Maybe the problems was not all due to firmware but also to apps.
Maybe if people didn't talked so much about sony taking time to upgrade we would get even better updates although taking a bit longer.
I to prefer stability over «last minute android» which I don't even know Why I want it but I do...
sammy fan but nomore, 22 Aug 2012Look who's complaining? You seem to be that stupid, arrogant teenager living next street!! Che... moreYou dolly all our devices deserve to be updated for as long as possible. I as a consumer expect the most out of what I'm buying and in this time of financial hardship we should all be getting the most we possibly can from these major companies. I wanna see these companies work hard for my money and for u to say that Sony have done enough makes me laugh Sony have been very sloppy with there devices and compatibility between them. For example my arc s wont connect to my amplifier but hold on I can connect an iPhone to it and it brings up the display on my tv screen witch I can control with my remote! Sony haven't done enough in my book to continue haveing my cash. This to me shows Sonys lack of thought and why so many people are turning there backs on them for companies who make all there devices work together and with regular updates to!
guy from colombia, 23 Aug 2012how come one of em flaships phones or whatever. xperia play did not received at least a chunk ... moreProbably because you can run psx games nicely on GB but with ICS you phone would slow down so much psx games would become unplayable. I had ICS and it was so bad I did factory reset and luckily it too me back to GB. I'll try ICS with the new update when I hear some feed back.
ArcAzoresPT, 23 Aug 2012Not sure what you are complaining about... First of all, the 2011 line has got ICS and second... moreI don't know why so many people are bragging about Sony releasing ICS update, What's the point if they won't release stable and bug free one.Now don't get the wrong idea, I'm also a big fan of Sony but we don't want any new updates which are not stable and full of lags. We want a stable update like GB atleast if they give GB 2.3.7 update like that of Xperia S/P we'd be appreciated.
Hi :) does anyone know if this update fixes the bug in Calendar synchronization? Calendar entries doesn't show in ICS :(
I tried to update my xperia neo with pc companion and two times and i got screwed up..what rubbish they are doing..they should releast it OTA. And i got it repaird in sony service centre to gingerbred both the times..
how come one of em flaships phones or whatever. xperia play did not received at least a chunk out of that fuckin Sandwich... that sucks man.. got the same specs of most the one that are gettin it.. .l.
TruckStop, 22 Aug 2012I'd rather have a working GB phone than a laggy/buggy ICS one but I'm annoyed that Sony (Erics... moreNot sure what you are complaining about...
First of all, the 2011 line has got ICS and second, they did get it way before the 1 year mark you are talking about.
Check your dates right.
First phones with ICS just appeared after new year 2012 and some xperia of '11 were getting it by March/April...
