Ten years old Nokia T9 is faster than multi-touch input of iPhone although i like Apple products but people who are saying that Nokia is copy cat have really don't have sense O2 and I-mate are making touch screen phone from a decade so how come Apple won't be called as copy cat.

FYI, Nokia has made touchscreen phone long before iphone.
so dont't say it's iphone imitation unless you can prove it.

People think nowdays the touch screen mobiles will be the next craze but its not for me,o.k it might look good the iphone but my mates wiping is screen very often that annoys him an finds it hard texting like the Gadget Show person who tested it against the N95,also this society nowdays do not seem to bothered about about the functions on the mobile an are more bothered about its looks which is totally wrong,Nokia might be abit behind the otheres releasing one but they seem more bothered about the ease of use an thats what they will be working on to keep up there good name

Touchscreen is NOT a fad. Like anyone who is used to UIQ or windows mobile find the touch screen very versatile for business use & where alternate data input methods are prefered rather than just T9 or multitap. Going on about this camera megpixel that camera on the phone, thats the fad!

I guess it's gonna be thick as hell and people will look ridiculous when putting it into their pockets. Same problem with the N95.

Guys out there, we are yet to see the full software features of this new platform so don't make such prejudices. iPhone UI may be phenomenal but what is essential here is the usability of the platform. I'm an SE loyalist and i am in favor of UIQ especially the v3.3 which will be incorporated on P5 but still we i have to see what S60 touch has to offer and besides how does it compare functionaly wise to UIQ, Windows Mobile, Android and Mac OS.
@cadic:
That was a prototype device used to operate the S60 touch platform, all OS developers do the same thing, they first test it with a prototype and later on after polishing the codes for the OS they will install it on the actual device to be sold on market :)

Touch screen is not really necessary, but it helps alot if your are writing in languages other than the major ones like english or french. It can be a royal pain in the as*, to key in every stroke or use some ridicolous pronunciation program. It not a necessity but rather a luxury. Although the P1i is lacking in features, touchscreen phones should follow that concept where both touchscreen and a normal keypad are needed!

Nokia and proper UI's just don't mix!Touchscreen is brilliant on the iphone and sure isn't half bad on winmob handsets.It's so much faster to navigate with touchscreen.For web browsing and apps like remote desktop its a must.The majority of nokia users won't take to touch as they don't use their devices for anything more that fun
