i have been usin d780 for a year.volume of the ringtone is real low!!many times i could not hear ringtone ,when on the busy street!transport etc.sms sending is real nigtmare!!phone system repetedly asks 10000 times do you want?really?it irritates beyond any measure.
if oyu getting a call you can not! just put it on the silent mode! as for instanse with the nokia models

Can someone tell me if I can manually lock the key-pad of the phone? I know that that the key pad can be automatically locked by adjusting the backlight time settings, but that is NOT what I want.

If you are organized using the Calender, this phone is quite Dangerous! The recurrent calender alarm works only for the first time & not for the subsequent alarms. Samsung is unable to rectify this bug till data (Dec 2009).
