No, appleare trying to skimp on quality with low price chip. The reason was the base cost for the upcoming iphone 4XL are higher, if they continue with Samsung high quality chips. The best part was, their consumer will not know the different as they already used to frequent visit back to service centre just to be delighted they have a new,
"Someone used before REPAIRED & REFURBISHED UNIT".
LOL..

Samsung is so dead. First 1.05 billion USD direct loss of liquidity and then Nokia/Sony putting up some serious competition and now this. They have hardly found enough time to focus on SGS4.

Hey!
it doesn't mean that because apple couldn't produce parts for their iphone their already not innovative or some stuffs like that.
Couldn't it be just like because they want the best quality and bringing up the best thing is to get the best parts from different companies??

#not an apple fanboy here.. just annoyed.. i don't like reading reasons like that.. just too ***********...ugh!

Well this makes no sense, the chip set can very well change how consumers view the devices.

Should be interesting for their new line ups, I'm curious to see what happens

why the surprise

this is apples buisness model. same as they are doing with the audience chips. pay for it, see how it works, then either patent it and only use it yourself. or see if you can do it cheeper in house. you cant really blame apple though can you. its a buisness at the end of the day. i am sure the decision wasnt made lightly.
