Apple iPhone 8GB gets a price cut in UK

@ Hella.
I work for O2 and The reason for the price drop is NOT because it is not selling - the iPhone is the fastest selling handset in history (fact). The reason for the drop is simply because the mobile phone martket is a fast moving market. Much faster than computers.
And to the guy who said that phones in the UK are free. They are not free at all. The cost of the handset is covered in the cost of the contract. If phones were actually 'free', and you were just paying for the tariff, you would have alot more minutes and texts.
Also this price drop is only until June 1st. Reason for this is because there will be a 32gb 3G model released on this date, which is rumoured to have a camera improvement along with video recording function also.

The Iphone is a good phone, but you have to remember when you go into the Carphone Warehouse and buy it you dont have to sign up to a contract! you can take it home use ZiPhone and use whatever network you want!
I was however one of the many people who bought the phone on the day of release for the 269 price and wont get anything back but who cares I've used more than £100 worth of browsing since then anyway.

this phone is so yesterday.
The only thing new about it is the price cut.
Sure it has a great interface but that's where it ends.
A winning formula would be stacking more features and an open source code that would allow installation of third party apps without the use of iTunes.
Steve Jobs, what happened to capitalism?

i agree, being first is like pulling a fat girl, the victory is still there, but its small, pointless and u feel like a bit of u died afterwards.
anyways, the price cut. i think that it isnt selling well over here as it is with our american counterparts. i reckon that this is cuz the n95 8gb and se k850i are far superior and ppl over here recognise that.
plus nokia are realeasing their touch screen soon, so they are probably trying to compete a bit more, as the touch screen is becoming a big thing with phones, no longer a rariety.
i dont like the i phone anyway

For goodness sake, we dont pay for phones in the uk. Cause they are free. Make the phone free or it still wont sell. It shouldnt b a price drop. It should now become free on selected price plans like all other pay monthly phones in the uk. Whats so had about doing that.
