Apple iPhone 5's A6 chipset performance examined in detail - read the full textEver since the Apple iPhone 5 was announced, the A6 chipset which powers it has been something of a riddle. With Apple mentioning nothing on the exact specifications, we had to wait another week to find the core count and architecture, as well as the RAM amount and GPU model. Now however, we got...

But the difference is Android users are generally more willing to switch their brain on to find solutions to problems.

Its the same idea, how a quad core CPU from 2006 will get smoked by the latest dual core processor out now. Why? Efficiency, design, heaps of technical issue (bandwidth, memory control etc)..

Its like a hi performance turbo 4 cylinder smashing a V8 with ease. It happens. And its all about design, which Apple is a market leader at.
Trust me.

Well don't forget that these are test running on a single core of A6 CPU, it will not out perform all 4cores of a quad CPU working together to carry out a single task, there are CPU out there that's clocking at or very close to 2gigs, it's all about how well the OS is configured to properly utilize these multi cores.

Sure looks great. Does that performance come at the cost of Battery life? As long as it lasts a day...

> In reply to doodz @ 2012-09-24 08:48 from t7RF - click to readI am not a big fan of apple. But they always get there processors right. I have also heard that A6 core is custom designed by Apple but manufactured by Samsung (on apple's instructions). This really doesn't make Samsung big. They are just manfacturing a product designed by apple. Samsung products are great and I admit that. But just blindly calling Apple stuff rubbish is just ignorance.

Well mistakes happen and apple has yet again made an error by providing a low quality finish in its hand set.
Hope apple learns its lesson, the best example of a phone with aluminium body is the nokia n8. Its paint finish is far better than this. Its a two year old phone and still no complaints from users regarding its quality.

It Depends upon their OS, the object C in terms of code execution is much faster than java.. java is too slow, that's why java doesn't good for developing games , but if SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 quad-core 1.4Ghz will use iOS(OS of iphone)? iphone is Looser.....
