> In reply to iSJ5 @ 2012-09-29 10:36 from t7Xk - click to readPlease explain just exactly how is it that 'Google maps is a gimmick?'

Google practically invented the maps experience to the general public - remember Google Earth?

The service works in everyday use, for things car or walking nav, finding bus & train information, POI's search and/or display... the list goes on. It even shows you a streetveiw picture of your destination so you know what your looking for when you arrive.

Please exlpain the gimmick part?

Now the 3D aerial veiw in iMaps is both very nifty and impressive. However this is the biggest gimmick possible in a map app. Unless you are a bird or a helicopter pilot there is almost no use for it except to see the speccie 3D imanges or to show off.

It's VERY hard to beleive Apple did not know iMaps wss not yet ready for full release

He apologizes after 5 million of devices were sold?
I hope, it will open eyes of iOS users, that this corporation doesn't care about their customers, but only the profits.
