So, if you're not the leader then you should quit? All those companies you mentioned weren't always the leaders in their fields. Sometimes it seems as tough the parents of the folks on this site told their kids to believe "if at first you don's succeed, lay down and die." Surely seems to be the mantra for alot of people here.

Well at least Sony are holding it back instead of giving out faulty models, unlike other brands...

The reason I think Sony should quit consumer segment is because lot of people don't care about Sony products. Look at Sony TVs I think they make the best LEDs but Samsung n LG sells more TVs than Sony. Btw I just bought a Sony bravia hx850 n it's awesome. People are more interested in Samsung or LG LED. I don't know why Sony tv don't sell as much as Samsung. I guess people find Samsung more cool n Sony boring. Look at tablets n phones they are nowhere. It doesnt matter if they are good or not but Sony tablets n phones don't sell. Maybe it's poor marketing by Sony. In camera market canon n Nikon are leaders. In gaming xbox n Nintendo are leaders. n portable music apple is the leader. In car audio pioneer is the leader. In laptops Dell n hp are leaders. Where does this leave Sony? I think nowhere sadly. Btw I have 90% Sony pproduct's in my house. I feel bad to see my favorite company fall like this. I hate Samsung n LG but respect what they have done.

Unlike Apple(with products I actually like minus the new iPhone since the old it's overall better) that doesn't feel the need to call back that huge number of black iPhones 5 that are chipping or sold that way, Sony did a good move to show they care. Atlast for the marketing purpose it's more a win than a lost.

Sony has had its up and downs over the past decades, and they always end up on top. With their very wide spread of products and market segments, they have enough lifeline to survive long "dry" periods.

Is everyone aware that Apple was almost dead (no thanks to the PC) in the 90's, with their struggling Mac relegated to publishing and editing? Then along came iMac, iPod, etc. and now they're alive. Sony is just like that.

Incidentally, I read somewhere that its Sony technology powers the iPhone 5 camera. Can someone confirm this?

After getting a refund for my Samsung Galaxy Ace (due to the SOD issue), I got a SE Xperia Neo. That was over a year ago and I'm still very happy with it today.

I have personally witnessed issues with my wife's iPhone 3GS (auto restart) and same with my mother's. Now, wife's iPhone 4 is having difficult HW button (not to mention the bad deal with the antenna needing a bumper guard).

I think I will be sticking with Sony for my next purchase. Looking at their waterproof, dustproof models now. :)

U r not the brightest fanboy around i think, maybe u shud start looking at competing offers. What about an Asus with better performance (Krait) and full HD IPS?

BUt i am sure youll be happy, u are only after brand, not specs, u dont care, u r same as those fanbois who still try to convince us that Lumia are great phones, even they still havent convinced themselves.

Xperia tablet S is an inferior product and i will not get one. But i will get a Xperia TX, and do you know why? Because it is complete, with LED flash. But hey, if the new top of the line xperia phone had no flash, then u would tell us that u use a digicam anyway, right?

Its ok to like a brand, Sony is my preferred brand, but there are limits for what limitations i will accept, just like i didnt get Xperia S because of the missing card slot, i will now not get a Tablet S coz of the missing flash. So i dont even need to think twice if i want full HD tablet, since the missing LED flash already made the decision for me

> In reply to KickFuLL @ 2012-10-05 18:15 from 7Xc2 - click to readYou dont follow the industry, its true that Sony is kind of giving up to compete with Samsung and LG on regular consumer grade TVs. Sony shows no will to go all the way to make very complete products, while samsung is always stretching themselves to give u AllInOne products.

For example, MKV support from USB flashdrive connected to the TV, Sony refused, while Samsung gave the buyers what they wanted in no time. I still bought a Sony TV last time, but ofcors that was stupid of me, Samsung could have given me a better TV at around the same price.

Next time i buy TV i dont have to look for my preferred brand maybe, Sony will be gone from consumer grade. According to themselves that is.

You do know how Sony got started right? They made rice cookers in a basement after world war 2. It's a good thing Sony employees don't think like you, "Oh no! We're not #1 anymore, lets just quit. It's too late!"
