Haaay buhay LOL I once went to the Xperia store in MOA and inquired about the TX, no one had any idea what model I was talking about. Everyone was looking to me like I was some kind of an arrogant know-it-all :'(

The TX has already reached the Malaysian Market. The price is RM1699 and it's pretty much cheaper than the GSIII. Gonna get it around Christmas.

Still, maybe it will be too expensive, many things are seriously overpriced in Philippines, but luckily we are used to being fooled here, its part of the lifestyle in Phil =)

With Philippine taxes, it would be at least 28k. Plus the fact that anything with the "Sony" brand in the Philippines, the vendors charge more.
But like everyone, we do hope it stays under 25k.

> In reply to Vj @ 2012-10-08 19:39 from 49yF - click to readIts performance keeps up with the top models from other manufacturers, even surpassing them in some benchmarks, and you want it to be a midrange phone? In your dreams, this is a high end unit that is not afraid to stand up to the best from the other manufacturer, it has very little to fear in terms of performance, then add build quality and design and $600 is very cheap.
If the price mentioned here is be the price when its launched in Manila then its gonna be competing price wise with Optimus 4x, a much weaker and cheap brand phone. TX is gonna be a success, best performance per $.

This is a fairly good price for the TX. It is $100 less than the GS3 and $100 more than Xperia S (in my country).
And the great thing about TX is.. replaceable battery!
I think it's the only Sony high end phone with replaceable battery.

and it doesn't need to hide behind the high end phones. sony got a very good build quality. the t, tx and v got super benchmark results and sony's update policy is first class. so 600 $ are ok i guess. and it is only starting price. the price will fall.

> In reply to Vj @ 2012-10-08 19:39 from 49yF - click to readThis is their top of the line phone yet it's cheaper than iPhone, Lumia 920 and SGS3. I think that's very reasonable no? They have other more affordable offerings if the price is too high, but as it stands, it is very competitive compared to the other top phone's prices.

why does SONY set high price as if there is no competition to these phones? The big boys are already there around the same price and high tech specs. sony must aim to the customers of mid range android with the midrange price or else they will vanish eventually..
